But he is not a good PG. Beaten by Lin several times. Will be worse with harden.

I Think Morey's mindset for these two goes as follows.

Lin- Lin would be traded to anybody willing to take the salary without us having to give up any major assets. a second rounder would be given up though. We would trade him and a second for a sucky player. we simply don't want his salary and we already have a good point guard in Beverly and a promising one in Cannon.

Asik- right now Asik's value is maxed out. For all of us who have seen Morey in action know that with a maximum value comes a trade. However Morey also knows that Asik is a very big asset to the team and specifically the defense. Morey's only chance of trading Asik is if we get a very good offer for him. If someone comes up and is like ill give you a lottery protected first. now way Asik is gone. If someone offers two and cap relief; different story. Most likely we get mediocre offers and Asik stays it Houston.

All in all expect no Lin and Asik stays

@Jonathan_Feigen: Rockets contingent pile into very large Mercedes van on their way to meet with Dwight Howard in Los Angeles. Hakeem, Clyde, Harden, Les, etc

I'll probably get flamed for this, but besides Rondo, Calderon, Dragic and Lowry what about dumping Lin and Asik and making a close to max offer for Tyreke Evans? Before you roll your eyes, consider:

-He's athletic, drives well, draws many free throws, and has improved his 3pt shot.

-only 23 and has played for a team notorious for being terrible at developing talent. History shows that offering young guys like this big contracts has a greater chance of paying off because he probably has more room to grow. If nothing else with his athleticism he should be a better defender.

-BIGGEST PRO: He would fit in great with Harden and Parsons. He has a good enough handle to start at point guard, but big enough to slide all the way down to small forward. He could start at point guard (splitting floor general duties with Harden), but then back up both Harden and Parsons, using him as a de facto 6th man. Odds very good he'd generate much better production as their back ups than any min. salary guy we'd have to sign after getting Dwight. The flexbility would be tremendous.

-He could replace Parsons in the starting lineup in 2015 if they don't have space to resign him when his contract is up. Having a guy that could be a starter at the 1 or 3 makes the odds greater that the Rockets can find another Parsons-esque second rounder overachiever since that player could be either a PG or SF (maybe Canaan?).

-If Rockets could dump Asik and Lin, given that the max Evans could get as a 5th year player would be less than 14m, they could probably still make room for a cheap vet PF (elton brand anyone? Or maybe jason collins just so no one else can sign him?).

    Cons:

    -May be a knucklehead
    -Sacramento may match

I can see why you'd be against, but there's at least an argument here, right?

Do you honestly believe Morey can't find us a bench?

He's the master of 'end of roster churn' until he gets an NBA rotation player.

So happy for Lin and Asik to leave this terrible franchise with the worst coach and arrogant fans in the world. so ashamed of Morey and Rox. Apologied to whole world that they did wrong. I believe Lin and Asik will slap their face again in the future. No one believe Houston will win champ even if Howard comes. Rockets will be doomed and never win. God will help Lin and Asik succeed.

Just a thought, obviously I want Dwight to sign with Houston. But I feel like his optimal fit would be with the Warriors.

The tweeter is mocking Mark Deeks and his 'Bev is better than Lin and Rockets know it' comment.
