A point guard is not going to make that much difference in your defense. The Rockets had an elite defense with revolving door Kenny Smith starting.

A front line of Howard, Parsons, and Smith would be contending for #1 defense in the league.

Please stop this Rondo talk. Terrible fit. It's all about shooters. Wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets tell Howard they have a deal ready for Josh Smith if he signs.

I can't see a Harden/Rondo backcourt. Anyone care to explain to me how that would work? I can't see it.

I dont believe Calderon will be getting offers lower than 8m per year... last season he makes 11 mill... he is still a very good pg, and teams will still be bidding for him...

4-6mill for Calderon is not very reasonable...

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if Murray tried to go after rondo. Even though I don't see him coming here

Smith is not even ready play big minutes. Hold it and go there in time.
Parsons is a good defender at times but no way is he lock down.

Howard is still hurt until he proves he can become the old Howard.

So they don't sound so confident about the awesome Beverley?

Oh well, I am guessing they are working on maybe getting another high $ FA. Maybe Iggy or Josh Smith.

trading Lin would be good for both rockets and Lin.

Of course. Lin is way better than Calderon in a vacuum. Even on the Rockets, I think Lin is a better fit, with his athleticism, passing, and defense trumping Calderon's shooting and steady veteran hand.

So instead of Harden initiating the offense as the playmaker with the ball I his hands, Romdo would be that instead. Penetrate and kick out to Harden or Parsons. Or lay it up with that crazy english.

Rondo is a good decision maker. Not saying it'll happen, just shedding some light on how Harden and Rondo can coexist

I don't understand why people keep mentioning Rondo. We don't have anything they'd want. They're in super-tank mode. When Pelicans traded for Jrue, they dictated what all-star point guards in their prime would cost.
