There is some belief that since the championship window would be shut that the Lakers would seek to just be competitive and give us the space to acquire Paul as well as a parting gift to the Clippers.

I highly doubt it, but there is certainly some belief of it (since the lakers tend to feel that remaining competitive and hoping to pry free agents is better than tanking for them)

then there's no reason asik and lin would go to the lakers, as there would be no point to a s&t for either us or dwight.

Chris Paul will make the Clippers meet with him. And Clippers know they should, they don't need Chris Paul to tell them to begin with. The Clippers will be stupid if they don't meet with him anyway. GAME OVER, BOY. Prepare for a disappointment. :)

PREPARE TO CRY! Dwight Howard is not coming here, it doesn't feel like he wants to come here neither. He's going to the Clippers or Warriors. GAME OVER!
Don't be scared, face it and deal with it! Disappointment is on its way!

As much as everyone might want howard, not want howard, or think we are going to get howard, the smart money is on the lakers.

Kobe is going to be around for maybe 1-2 years. At that point it becomes howards team. As incumbent team Lakers have that edge.

As much as I hate the lakers I spent enough time in southern california to know that LA is lakers town. Its the most important sport there.

Howard gets the be the man once kobe leaves and spotlight will be on him. Howard craves the spotlight. Lakers have the tradition of good team and they might be able to sell howard on adding some pieces. Nash and kobe can eventually be interchanged and everyone wants to play in LA.

I just think its way premature and folks are getting their hopes up. Sure we should be excited about a young team of harden and parsons and what we can add to that... but this mentality like it is all or nothing with howard is not a good place to be thinking either. We don't get howard? Big whoop. There are enough millsaps, lamarcus aldrige and other pieces around that we can still compete.. and perhaps compete at an even higher level than if we get howard.

Folks got their hopes up before when we supposedly were getting bosh or nene or gasol or whoever else, we didnt get them and guess what? The sky didnt fall.

Howard is probably 20% if that. That should be the thinking and if he doesnt want to come doesnt mean houston isnt a future destination of anyone else. good thing about morey is we are always in the mix. And here we are again in the mix. At least we are fighting and not philly or the kings or some scrub team.
