Depends on the protection of the pick I guess.

I mean this is the pick in 2016? In 2015 Melo can opt out...so it could be a pretty valuable pick pending the protection of it.

The Nuggets have the right to swap that pick. So it's either the Knicks or the Nuggets pick. I guess the Nuggets could get bad by that time too. But the most likely scenario it's outside the lotto.

Still, it's amazing they traded Bargs for a 1st, 2 2nds and salary savings. Nice start by Ujiri.

    Trash for trash.

Hard to believe that Camby's corpse and Novak make approximately $7M combined. Scary.

I would take Novak before Bargnani. At least he's actually good at what he supposedly does. Andrea might be the most worthless piece of trash in the league.

I will have to disagree. This is a great move for the Raptors.

Bargnani's and Camby's contract expires in two years. Novak only has one more year after Bargnani's contract expiries, and it is only for 3.75 million dollars.

In essence, they just got three picks (including one first round draft pick) to tie up 3.75 million dollars for only one more year.

Also, it is not like Novak is not worth that much money. I am sure if they wanted to, the Raptors can trade Novak easily.

I suspect Bargs will be a solid bench player. It's one thing to have to create your shots and carry a crappy team, it's another to come off the bench and catch and shoot.

it could still end up an ok deal for the Knicks. But it's definitely a move in the right direction for the Raptors.

Wow...this was a bad trade by the Knicks lol.

Definitely. Novak at least is passionate about the game.

I guess the Knicks are hoping on that 'upside' for Bargnani or something.

This. Not to mention, Camby's contract isn't fully guaranteed. They save a ton of money over the next two years, add 3.75 mil in 2015-16, and get 3 picks. Pretty nice.

I'm also surprised that Camby received a three year contract. He will be 42 if he doesn't retire before his contract expires!

Also, I am curious what the second round picks are from. Knicks owe their 2014 and 2015 2nd round picks to the Rockets and their 2016 to Portland. OKC owes them their 2014 second rounder to the Knicks which I assume will be one of the picks traded to Toronto.

They also have the King's second round pick in 2014, but it is top 55 protected.

If it is OKC and the King's top 55 protected pick, then maybe this trade is just a wash....

I forgot to mention that if the King's pick is in the top 55 (which 99.99% it will happen), Kings' obligation to give a draft pick is relinquished.

As Clutch put it, trash for upgraded trash, and it cost the Knicks a future first, maybe a second. How the once mighty keep falling!
