"Basketball Reasons" my butt. He'll end up staying in L.A. for the millions of dollars he'll earn and the exposure of just being in L.A.

Get ready to be disappointed people.

the extra money he'll earn in LA will come at playing an extra year, and its something like 9 million more with the extra year. year for year he will make more money in houston and spend less money on cost of living.

I don't have a source, but I heard he made more in endorsements/yr in Orlando as compared to LA. The LA market is big as we know, but Dwight already lost that market. Not to mention there are so many people vying for exposure, he will get saturated. Being THE entire market is better than being part of a big one.

Hi friends, I really understand your doubt by my post number. In our BBS, we also think one is not reliable when he doesn't post a lot. But Chinese don't post in CF a lot always by language issue. I post in Chinese Basketball fans BBS hupuchina more than 10,000 in 5 years. I can proof it if necessary.

I want to tell you the truth I see.

Fans of star/team main based on such things. 1)Hometown. Obviously, this is not the reason for Chinese. 2) skills or honors. Such as the fan of Kobe,Lebron,Tracy and Yao 3) Cultural Identity. Major fans of Yao based on this reason because Yao is seen be the hero of China. We have same nationality, same live circumstance and same culture. Lin gets fans in China always based on this reason, but still a lot don't think he is their compatriots because he isn't a real Chinese and didn't lived in China. When Linsanity happened ,he got significant attention, but it is somehow cool down that he doesn't play star-level game this season. If he still be a role player along with James Harden and Dwight Howard, the attention around him will cool down a lot in my think. Do you think he will be a star like Linsanity?

Chinese television focus on the teams have champion competitiveness(Miami,LAL) and have Chinese players with a lot fans(Rockets with Yao and Lin,Mavericks with Yi) If Rockets don't have Lin but have Dwight to be a competitor, the television rating won't fall down.

Actually, the number of fans of Rockets is always bigger than any other teams in NBA,even in the years when Yao didn't play and Lin had not come, Lakers have champion competitiveness. A large number of Yao fans become solid Rockets fans during last years. We post several thousand every day to talk how Rockets improve and be a better team. We love all Rockets player even one leave the team. Luis,Shane,Carl,Kyle and Chandler all have a lot Chinese fans because they are/were Rockets player. But I think the fans of Lin don't have as much support to the team as fans of Yao. Some of them think Rockets don't give their star a ideal status to show, because James Harden gets the ball and Kevin Mchale usually don't let Lin play in final quarter. So I think obviously Lin is not the key factor of marketing in China, because we couldn't see the number will remain if Lin be a role player, and if Lin be a role, the fans won't gratitude to Rockets although Les gave hime a large contract.

For my opinion, I love Lin's game, and think he also have potential to improve, and fit to James-Dwight pair ,but don't afraid for losing marketing if you trade him.

As long as he doesn't end up in Dallas I will be very happy. WTF does Dwight see in Dallas that we don't? The Warriors are a million times better than the Ponies. Why will he choose Dallas over us? I rather be in L.A, too.

Dallas is not a real contender. Their pitch hasn't worked for LBJ, melo, Dwill and after this week D12. It's speculation and Cuban has said they have a 2 year plan aka get Dwight and pray LBJ comes. Weak. Lebron isn't leaving Miami.
