Assuming that Dwight signs, Iggy will be way overpaid for the role the Rockets would have him in (3&D wing) relative to the market and it would move Parsons out of position while exhausting Houston's best asset in Asik. If we didn't already have 2 playmakers in the backcourt, it might make some sense but right now it is much more important to find a near All-Star (or better) PF and hope Parsons can improve on defense.

Iggy makes zero sense unless we plan to play Chandler at the 4 for a large chunk of the season. If we don't get Howard I rather go after another big like West or Millsap. I could see us playing playing Harden, Iggy, Parsons, Smith and asik in spurts.
Iggy in N.O. makes sense. They seem to want to win now it seems with the addition of Jrue Holiday for Noel and '14 1st round pick. Lopez Davis Iggy EGO Holiday They are more athletic and better than last years team. We're getting better but so are the pelicans, at least short term.
Indeed, Pelicans makes a lot of sense, also since they want to get rid of Gordon. They can play Vasquez / Anderson alongside Holiday & Iggy in case Gordon leaves. That would be a fun team.
if DM indeed acquired Iggy, I think he's bring in to play a big guards back court like the Bulls with Harper/MJ/Pippen. Lin will be the odd man out. both Iggy and Harden are able to man the point while Parsons is also good ball handler.
Iguadala is way better than Chandler Parson. As much as people think how great Parson is in the Playoffs....i feel he lack the athleticism of Iguadala and get blocks easily when he try to drive and go for the layup. So i tend to be cautious when it comes to judging Parson.
Even if we want him, how can we afford him. I think we're only interested once Dwight signs, can't see Morey messing up next year by signing Iggy to a big contract which he will pursue.
I wouldn't write this off as a possibility. The Team USA connection was pretty strong. Methinks Dwight likes Iggy.
Gordon is 24, Jrue is 23, Davis is 20, Noel is 19. They are in no way a "win now" situation. Iguodala is 29, in 4-5 years when there team will be in there prime Iggy will be washed up 33/34 years old.
Rather use Lin's cap space on Iggy even in a sixth man role. Several teams have a wing sixth man who then also plays closer in a more small ball lineup. Successfully I might add with the Spurs (Ginobili) and Heat (Allen). No reason Iggy couldn't do the same thing just need to prioritize. If you could somehow sign Iggy while dropping T-Rob and Lin then your core would be Beverly, Harden, Parsons, Iggy, Asik, and Howard. Lots of combo possibilities where you could go big with the twin towers or small with Parsons at PF. Maybe situations where you just throw out the best five and have Iggy at point with Harden, Parsons, Asik, and Howard. I think this could work if you signed and traded Lin, Trob, and Dmo to the Lakers for Howard and then signed Iggy for starting at $9 million or so. At this stage in his career I am sure Iguodala would rather play for a championship and Houston should intrigue him more than any other team mentioned in that tweet.
With no true PG. Really? I think in our system, you gotta have at least 1 player to bring the ball up to take pressure off of James and Chandler. I know that either of them could bring the ball up as well.
Iggy declined a $16M player option. Don't think his market is close to as low as some people dream it is. There will be plenty of suitors for him and he'll likely get overpaid like most other good FAs.
Like AK47 I think he would prefer one last long term deal and opted out to pursue it. Obviously no one is going to pay him $16m on overage but yeah someone will offer him more than $10 starting out. I think if Lin could be moved he could close to that. I don't think I would move Lin and Asik for him but there are many on this board who feel Asik and Howard would be too much money at center. If you could sign and trade Lin for Howard and Asik for Iggy you could then offer Iggy as much as anyone else. Not sure if that's worth it though.
If the Lakers miss out on Howard i can see them getting Iggy. PG Nash SG Kobe SF Iggy PF Who cares C Gasol
Nope no way no how thank God. Even without Howard and even if they amnestied Metta they would STILL be over the cap.
Iguodala is a crappy 3 pt shooter and is a liability at the free throw line. He's reached his ceiling as player.
