This is an awful post. Nothing in it is true.

Not quite the same. He was still under contract.

And now I understand why you have such a loyal following on here.

Our viewership in China more than likely has less to do with Lin and more to do with Yao. Lets be real here.

The offense was built around the players last season, as it will be built around the players this season.

And that (state of the team) might give Phil some pause in returning as a coach

Thanks. So do know if you the teams being shown get any revenue from having their team games shown? If yes, then this will offset that salary hike Lin will incur in the last year so he shouldn't be as hard to move if the Rockets make that known how much they are making.

I get it. Look at it this way:

    1) Outside of Phil, what available coach is a clear upgrade over Mike D?

    2) If you were Buss would you lose the power play to the guy boning your sister? A guy you don't like. And set the precedent of players running the ship at the same time?

I believe national and overseas tv rights go into the shared revenue pool. As a matter of fact, the league handles those contracts, not the teams. So there's no direct benefit to teams if they get more airplay nationally or internationally.

It's the local domestic TV rights that the teams get a larger share of and don't have to kick in as much into revenue sharing. Things like the Comcast deal, or Linsanity ending the Time-Warner/MSG standoff, or the Laker's Billion Dollar cable deal.

But more national and international TV exposure can help a player's brand and endorsement opportunities. I believe Les set up some sort of joint-investment venture for his other non-NBA business interests focused on the China market and used Yao Ming as his "in" to get onboard with people there according to an article several years old. Other teams don't have that type of infrastructure in place, so probably won't be able to benefit as much.

I keep reading about a delegation to pitch Houston. So, who all is in this Fellowship of the Proposal?

This. Phil Jackson will only coach if they allow him to coach only home games. Health is the main concern for Phil, I don't think he can handle a 8 month season. Even if he coaches Lakers, it will not be longer than 1 year. Hopefully Dwight can see if they do bring Phil, it would be a rental coach.

It was described in some news nugget earlier today. I believe it's Morey, Les, McHale, Harden, Parson, Olajuwon, and staff.

I heard that Marc Berman reported Drexler will be there, also, for what it's worth. No link to this, it was a text from my brother.

Again thanks. I guess exposure might be enough to entice other teams. I mean if they've never gotten much overseas exposure before, having Lin will give them that.
