Im wondering what the chances are that its being discussed for the trade to involve Dirk with the Celtics agreeing to a favorable buyout so Dirk could return to Dallas in I guess it would be December right? Not sure about the timeframe, but Im pretty sure its something like a month into the season. Something like this - Dirk, Marion, Larkin, picks (33-34 mil, all expiring except Larkin) for Rondo, Wallace, Lee (27 mil all with multiple years of salary) This would put the Mavs with even more cap space to sign Dwight, and the Celtics would unload 3 major contracts... especially the Wallace contract which is extremely terrible. As open as Dirk has been about doing whatever to get another star player or two to Dallas, I think he would seriously consider doing this for Cuban.
Celtics want only one Mav and that's Dirk. Marion would have to traded also and he's the Mavs second best player. Rondo would be in the exact same position if he went to the Mavs.
Look at your deal and explain to me why the celtics would take it even if they could not find a better one. Why would they trade an established star for the 13th pick in a crappy draft, crappy players, crappy picks, and the chance of drafting an all star by sucking (which they already will)? I doubt the mavs can even trade their picks as you suggested. In the other thread you said bogut and lee was a good offer for the lakers. Partly because bogut was on a 1 year deal and he was an expiring which was perfect for them moving forward.
hehe, are you trolling me right now? Or do you really not understand what i said in the last few posts? In case it's the latter: Re first bolded - that is exactly what I am saying. I am saying that it's nothing special and the Celtics can do better. I.e. the Mavs probably can't get him. I.e. it's a bad deal. I.e. not happening. I.e. I'm dismissing it. Hehe... Re second bolded - no, I did not. To the opposite, I said that i don't see a sign and trade happening, and that I think the Lakers shouldn't take any sign and trades from any team. I ended up discussing if some other team like the Cavs (or such) would value David Lee. But I specifically said that I don't see Dwight in GSW, several times.
Yes. I've no way of finding the thread but you are a contributor. If you can do a search and find that thread, link it. I'll find you the posts where I say the exact opposite of what you suggest here. This nonsense is hilarious. You are confusing me with someone else. And because of it, you are also somehow reading my posts with an extreme bias in this thread which leads you to completely misinterpret them. Either that, or this is hardcore trolling, in which case it's impressive hehe.
Except a huge part of the Dallas pitch is "In 2014, Dirk will take a huge paycut and we'll use that capspace to get someone awesome in that free agency." Throwing in one of the worst contacts in the league in Wallace and a midsized one in Lee destroys that completely.
So Dallas leaks info to the media about their interest in Rondo as a way of inspiring Howard to sign with them? Except Dallas can't get Rondo. So........
