Cuban just twisted the Oreo in front of his face, push the halves back together and placed the Oreo back on the tray.
They probably love Wiggins more than anything. Shawn Marion and Vince Carter could be nice tank drivers! Carter/Marion expirings + Larkin + Dallas' 3 firsts ('16, '18, '20) + Boston's '14 2nd (which should be very high, so valuable) Meh, still nothing special of a deal for Rondo. They might find a better one.
What's far-fetched is the insinuation that Larkin can be the centerpiece of a deal for one of the top PGs in the league still in his prime. I agree that if you can deal him for picks/players, its wise to do so. You can't begin to tell me, though, that the No. 18 pick in a weak draft is the best offer Boston will get. Not unless the Mavs are willing to take back multiple horrible contracts, in which case it defeats the purpose because they couldn't sign Howard.
Maybe if the Mavs give up their 1st round picks in 2014/16/18/20/22 Boston wouldn't require them to also take on bad contracts.
Mavs MIGHT be able to get Rondo for picks/Larkin and having the Mavs take on some bad contracts like Wallace/Lee. It is possible. But that takes them COMPLETELY out of the Howard sweepstakes. If the Mavs lose out on Howard, I COULD see Cuban feeling they "have to do something" and try to get Rondo to pair with Dirk. Still, if the Celtics are having a firesale and Rondo is available, there will be a lot of teams calling with offers. Wide open field.
hehe. i know it's probably a joke. but just in case: the best they could do is 16/18/20 because of the CBA rules. They traded their protected 2014 pick away, and it's likely gone if they do make that deal. They could also add rights to swap picks in 2015, 2017 and 2019 (if Mavs have a worse record than the Celtics, the Celtics can swap picks). And 2nd rounders, the Mavs have a lot of them.
They can. They just have to add clauses to reflect that. E.g., "Celtics will get the 2016 Mavs pick, as long as the Mavs' obligation to OKC is fulfilled in 2014; otherwise, the Celtics will get the Mavs' 2nd rounders in 2014,2015 and 2016", and so for each pick. In practice, if the Mavs do add Rondo and use their cap space to add a 3rd piece (Dwight, Pekovic, Al Jefferson, etc), they are likely to be a top 10 team next year. In which case OKC would get that pick.
Why are you always their to support bs? You did the same thing when the warriors were supposed to land dwight.
Can dallas even trade any first round picks? Dont they have to fulfill the obligation they have to the thunder for that pick the rockets traded them?
That last trade only made it look like Boston was having a fire sale when they aren't. Every team except for the nets was not interested in two aging stars still on the books for the bad portion of their contracts. They got what they could from the nets. Rondo will be used to get young assets, picks and shed lee and bass.
What support? Did you even read my posts? "Meh, still nothing special of a deal for Rondo. They might find a better one." Re GSW, if I remember corectly, I didn't think that GSW was likely to land Dwight, and I was very clear about it too. I was just discussing David Lee / Bogut trade value there with some people. I think there's a comprehension issue. Those GSW posts were long, so I can understand that. People have a twitter syndrome. But this post is short and not very complicated.
Yes, it makes no sense. They can get mkg who is on the block and wallace and lee on the bobcats. Thats just one offer. Look at what the sixers got for jrue holiday. If they really wanted wiggins they could do a similar move WHILE dumping salary. Just dismiss it like you should have done with the warriors acquiring howard. **** dont make sense.
The Mavs are funny. Cuban so focused on Dwight Howard that he seems to not realize he can get his next franchise guy right there...instead he'll risk Dwight staying in L.A or going to Houston and Rondo being traded elsewhere.
What are you talking about? I've dismissed this trade. I've assessed the best deal the Mavs could make (without screwing up their cap space) and came to a conclusion that it was "nothing special" to the Celtics. And I've dismissed the Howard to the Warriors deal. I was discussing David Lee in that thread, not Howard. Seriously. Right now you are complaining about me saying stuff that I haven't said and that is 180 degrees opposite to what I said. And that's probably because you haven't read into my posts. Or maybe I haven't expressed myself well enough, although I think I did. Take time and re-read.
