That's a really good take on the news. I just focused on the silly language that was used and never thought about that angle. I definitely think Deek was used by a GM to try and grab Lin from us. There has been talk linking T-Rob to the Spurs and they also drafted a French kid who is definitely not coming this year. Are the Spurs trying to make a play on Lin as well, maybe we'll get the fantastic Aussie PG Patty Mills in return. Would we send Anderson back there too?

    Very interesting.

 Are we turning Asik into a spot-up shooter?

I don't see how they can play well together. Maybe Dwight is looking at Asik as a back up who can play a lot of minutes or who can be subbed in when the other team decide to hack-a-Dwight. Or play a few games when he's injured.

Omer has been working on his 3 point shot and is hitting 85% in practice (92% from the corners). He now calls himself "The Black Ryan Anderson With A Basketball."

Carl, your on fire. That's great news. Not just that he's hitting an impressive 92% of corner threes but it seems like he's preparing for Dwight to come and his role as a spot up shooter!

    Bring on the Twin Towers!

Omer is gonna break out the jump shot next year. Count in it.

The difference between Asik and someone like Robinson is that he actually shows signs of improvement year over year. Robinson had the same issues in college as he does at the end of a full season in the pros. There has been no upwards trajectory.

Hey Carl, what do you think of Asik for PPat trade if we get Howard?

Towards the latter half of the season during one of the games, Omer made a short jumper and Bullard made a comment that Omer makes jumpers all the time in practice but has no confidence during games. So I would not be surprised if Omer adds a solid short jumper game next season.

I have no problem with Deeks talking about trying to dump Lin but why add prioritize salary over aassets? Is Deeks a total moron, or has he been living under a rock the past month? It should be obvious to anyone that if Lin was dumped it would be to make space for DH, who is unarguably a bigger asset than Lin.

Are you being sarcastic? The guy can't hit a 15 footer. How is he going to hit treys?

I don't think this is big news. It's logical to put Lin out there and just see what his value is and what is possible. I'd be surprised if Asik isn't also being shopped around a bit.

Not that this article is credible, but it is very frustrating that since morey took over we have had some decent pg's (raefer, AB, Lowry, Dragic, Lin). But to my knowledge we haven't started the same one for more than two seasons in a row. It's like nfl teams changing QB's every two years.

Sorry to burst your dreams but the Rockets are playing the Pacers in Taiwan for preseason global games where its going to be packed to see Linsanity. If Lin gets traded the Rockets shouldn't even go to Taiwan they will get stoned. Nonetheless, it will be exciting to see how much everyone on the team has improved over the summer, Oct 13 is the day to mark.

It's Mark Deeks, he understands cap better than 99.9% of us.

Clearly he means that Lin will get expensive soon (salary wise, not cap wise) + the Rockets need to clear cap to sign Dwight.
    It's two unrelated things.

I think you didn't understand that tweet. He's saying that the Rockets would prefer cap relief over getting back youngsters. I.e., if they can trade Lin for just cap space (8.3 mil) + pick, that's their preference.

NBA is harder than college. He showed improvement each year in college. It is impossible for Robinson to show year over year in one year in the NBA for a rookie.

I think you're being too kind to Deeks. Don't make up excuses for his ignorance.
