That depends. Because a team may not trade for LMA if he's not going to resign with them. And obviously he wants to go to a playoff team. And it's not many of them that can offer what Portland may would take. And the longer they wait, teams may drop out of the trade picture by making other moves (guys like Love, Gordon, Granger, etc may be on the trade block as well). And now would be a good time to move LMA so they can be a high lottery pick team for next year's draft because they're not making the playoffs with LMA anyway.
LaMarcus Aldridge's agency has suggested Aldridge landing with the Bulls, among others, sources said. At issue is the Trail Blazers want a center - at least - in return, and the Bulls won't part with Joakim Noah. In this hypothetical, because no terms have been discussed, the Trail Blazers also likely would ask for Jimmy Butler and/or the Bulls' first-round pick from Charlotte, which could be fully unprotected in 2016 Read more at http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#qrDiE2dkKdMtsmrW.99 Portland gives Aldridge to chicago Portland recives Asik, Trob and Chi 2014 1st Hoston gives Asik Trob Houston recives Right to Mirotic, Charlotte 1st, Hamilton (1million guarantee) and a lot of cap relief
I can' see Aldridge to Chicago. They would have 3, count them 3 Power Forwards making huge dollars. 36 million dollars at that position.
Salaries don't match. T-Rob's salary is only $3.5M. Chicago can accept him into their $5M TPE, and then turn around and flip him to Portland. But T-Rob's $3.5M by itself is insufficient to match Aldridge's $14M salary. Chicago needs to send out more salary to Portland to match Aldridge's salary. Otherwise, Chicago wouldn't be allowed to take Aldridge into their salary cap since they're over the cap.
That's why Chicago would want to ship out a forward like Deng instead of Noah as part of the package for Aldridge. And they can also amnesty Boozer if they need to.
Sign Dwight first and almost anyone is a possibility to join our team as long as the salary cap permits.
