According to some here, Les has money, so he doesn't mind waste on experiment a few more unsuccessful years, assuming it will lead to a championship contender.

Whoever think like that really needs to get his head exam. You can have the best man in every positions and will still not able to make it to the final with McHale.

we obviously weren't looking to this draft to fill our needs - not at #34. parsons don't come every year, and when they do come it's mostly luck. we are looking at free agency to do that to fill our needs. we took the best prospect at #34 and that's pretty much it. and canaan is pretty much that - a prospect. a good prospect.

at his size, he needs to do one thing really well in order to be a rotational player and that one thing "looks" to be his shooting and that's it. it's not his passing, not his D. well, hopefully he'll learn to play some D at this level so he can at least be on the floor.

like morey said - he'll play for a bit on the vipers and we'll see. but he's not ready to play any type of minutes in the nba right now.

Hmm, Just looked at highlight videos and he actually seems like a steal in the draft. This guy shooting is amazing and even when he drives he can pull off some crazy athletic moves. His PPG is high. I wonder if the Rockets are planning on boot Lin. Obviously Lin has an overpaid salery and Beverley/Canaan Would be a good enough PG threat. Beverly could be you're average scorer, passer and great defense. Canaan could be you're back explosive scorer PG who can pass decently. That way if we do this it gives us room to sign Josh Smith, Chris Paul, Millsap, Gasol, Al jefferson and etc.

Hey guys i just joined the forum. I'm a Murray State alum and have been watching Canaan for 4 years now. I'm a huge fan of his as are many other people from around here that will be jumping on the Rocket bandwagon shortly. Trust me when I say that you got a great pick in Isaiah Canaan. Murray State isn't a big name school or anything but has a great history in college basketball and has had it's fair share of NBA talent (28th ranked program all time according to ESPN). Ask several of the Murray State greats that have jerseys in the rafters and attend games and they will tell you that Isaiah may be the best player to ever put on a Murray State jersey. The guy has become a legend in Murray, KY over the past 4 years for what he's done on and off the court.

His stats are somewhat skewed from this year because he was so heavily defended because of his scoring ability, lack thereof from teammates, and was literally our only ball handler. There was a ton of pressure on him to score and the opposing teams knew that and threw everything they could at him. I'm talking being faceguarded, double/triple teamed off screens, one team even tried double teaming him full court the entire time until he made them pay by getting them into foul trouble a few minutes in. He can get his shot off literally whenever he wants at a high percentage. He is incredibly quick and deceptive with the ball in his hands and handles it as good as anybody i've seen. Has iso moves that just make you grin. Very fun player to watch. He likes to come down every now and then and just spot up a 30 footer (which he usually makes) and will keep shooting until he misses if hes feeling it. Last season one game went 7-7 from 3 in the first half being faceguarded the entire time.

He really shines when the games are the biggest and the lights are the brightest. Ice in his veins they say. He's a fierce competitor and wills himself to victory as i've seen over a hundred times. Always has his best games when the pressure is on and the games are meaningful.

His best attribute is his attitude. Always at schools and homes helping people and visiting anyone that he feels he can make a difference in their lives. He has done more for the community of Murray, KY than anyone I can remember and you are extremely lucky to have him in Houston. I know he will make us proud and I'm sure he will you as well!

    Houston Rockets
    Grade: A
    Haul: Isaiah Canaan.
The Houston Rockets did not want to add salary in their chase down of Dwight Howard, and succeeded on staying out of the first round and only taking a flyer on Canaan in the second. At Murray State Canaan developed into a second-team All-American, averaging nearly 22 points a game in his senior year, even though his three-point percentage dropped. If he can regain the touch that saw him shoot well into the 40 percent mark in his first three seasons, the Rockets may have just grabbed a solid bench scorer for the price of a second rounder.

Moss! He came in as I think the 3rd or 4th best recruit we got last year and by the end of the year was the only freshman playing big minutes and was playing more minutes than 2 of our starters as a 6th man! He is going to have a great career at Murray State and I am looking forward to watching him the next 3 years. Guy doesn't back down from anything.
Dex was a great energy for us even though he was hobbled by a few minor injuries throughout the season with knees, etc. I look for him to continue to bring his energy each game! We need both of them to play big for us this year!

at the tail end of the presser when they hand them the jersey, you can over hear something along the lines of Terrance is switching.

Was Terrence Jones switching to #1? I wonder what number he's switching to now? anybody know?
