I like the pick, he will play well with Harden or off the bench giving us a spark of offense. I am surprised Peyton Siva went so far down in this draft.

Love the value of this pick..GMs rated him around 20th best in this draft and he fits perfectly in our PnR offense and with Harden. Dude is a baller and I'm on the bandwagon

Can anyone summarize what the Rockets have for draft picks going forward the next few years? I can't recall if the organization has extra picks from prior trades in the next few years. Thanks.

If the Rockets sign Dwight, they aren't going to start this season with Beverly running the point, and Canaan backing him up. They'll be in win-now mode. Can't depend on an inexperienced rookie to play heavy minutes. If Lin gets traded, expect a veteran to replace him, or back-up Beverly.

Really liked his little post-pick interview (page 14 or so of this thread). Very mature and a great attitude, or that's the first impression anyway.

Hope he can actually make the Rockets rotation instead of spending the whole year with RGV.

Does anyone know if he's a North Carolina native?

This hasn't been updated for all teams yet, but summary of what Rockets have

    Get
    NY Knicks 2014 2nd rd
    NY Knicks 2015 2nd rd
LAC 2015 2nd rd if and only if 51-55. No pick if isn't there. I give this a 30% chance we get this pick.

    Give up
    2014 2nd RD pick

If Lin gets traded, I would expect the Rockets go hard for Llull. I still have a hard time seeing Lin get traded as Lin and Beverley in backcourt has a lot of potential.

I think he's more of an Aaron Brooks than Lowry. We found our Brooks replacement lol.

Don't see Lin being traded unless we end up picking up a vet PG. Bev/ICU could be rough...

I remember a rookie Sam Cassell getting more crunch minutes than Kenny Smith

Well most people posting on here weren't that high on Lin in the first place.

But if he does get traded it'll be interesting to see how he does on a new team. Imagine if he went back to "Linsanity" levels? Boy would we have egg on our face.

The only reason he isn't "Linsanity mode" now is hecause he plays with a ball dominant SG. Not a knock on Harden, but thats the way it is.

If we never had gotten Harden, Lin would have stayed Linsanity mode in my opinion.

But, I'm happy as hell we got the Beard, so sorry Lin!

But I certainly don't think Lin should be shipped off. He's a great playmaker, penetrator, and his 3pt shot improved and appparently, continues to improve. At 8 mil, I think Lin is a bargain compared to the salaries of other PGs. He's solid, and that's all you need from him.

We needed a point guard who doesn't nut up in the final offensive possesion of a close game. This guy is at his best in pressure situations. Great 2nd round pick in my mind.

I would love for Sergio Llull to finally come over, but i have a feeling it won't be until next season. In the mean time, we have to see what Lin has improved on, as I don't see a huge market for him after his sub-par play last season. If anyone can make magic happen, that would be Morey. Can't wait to see what our roster will look like at tip-off for the 2013-2014 season!

Golly! That's what I like to read. A glowing, positive take on a fellow who spent 4 years in college, like another 2nd round pick that comes to mind, and who was seen as going in the bottom third of the 1st round.

Seriously, where do you come up with this? That Morey clearly doesn't know what he's doing and has a long history of horrible picks in the second round? That Morey had a smile on his face because he delights in selecting losers? That Morey got a 4 year contract extension because Alexander wants a cat who's not afraid to make an awful pick in the draft?

Methinks you doth protest a bit too much, based on diddly squat, and I have to wonder why. I love that we got Canaan. You clearly don't, for whatever reason, but at least base those reasons on facts, not on whatever passes for an "unbiased opinion" in that noggin of yours. With all due respect. Oh, and you might, just might consider giving the Toy Canaan a chance to show what he can do before passing judgement. Just a thought.

This guy could end up being the steal of the draft.

Great quickness with shooting range beyond the NBA 3-point line who should have been drafted much earlier. That reeks of potential draft steal. Good job, Morey.
