"Dwight, even some of your Laker teammates feel like Harden is a MVP-caliber player. How does this make you feel about going to Houston to play with him?"

    Morey -

"We are 100% confident we will be setup well"

-referring to whether or not the Rockets would be able to make the "moves" necessary to sign a max free agent.

If we dont move Robinson or move the necessary players... Can we still offer Howard the max? Would we have to pay luxary tax? What happens then?

We will be able to. I think we can throw in a pick or trade Asik (worst case) and we will have space

The whole city is in this Howard or bust mentality I mean our team is great now but there is no denying Howard takes us to a new level.

Even based on the assumption that we cannot move anyone no matter what, which is extremely unlikely, the stretch provision allows Morey to cut Jeremy Lin and spread the rest of his cap hit($17.6mil) for 5 years(~$3mil/yr). This will result in a ~$5mil cap savings, just perfect for fitting Dwight Howard under the cap.

The above scenario will never come to fruition because the Rockets can move other salaries without issue. But even in the absolute worst case scenario, the Rockets can fit Howard under the cap.

Spears may well turn out to be wrong. But it was at the very least premature for people to gloat over his alleged wrongness based on a couple of reports that the Rockets supposedly had "imminent" trades lined up for Robinson.

We will find out if and when a trade is actually made to clear space for Dwight.

Don't shoot the messenger. Keep in mind you are the one who created this thread referencing a report of no other team would be interested in trading for him. This is also obviously not true considering Morey's comments in the presser.

Let's trade him versus a 2014 draft pick (top ten or lottery protected because he seems to have not a high value)
    Must have teams interested.

I'd give him to the Bulls for their TPE .... as long as they took Royce White too.

LOL "nobody, he's playing like a bust, showing he was drafted too high, etc" as highlight play in the background, haha!

FA can't finalized by July 10th, Mr. Morey has time. If Howard verbally agrees, I'm sure either Lin or T-Rob will be gone ASAP.

Bulls are too close to the hard cap to do that trade.

Nothing? He could at least be Larry Johnson[IMG]

Seriously, he's too young to completely give up on. Has he even played in the D-League yet?

It's the Rockets fault for lowering his stock by not playing him that much.

Wrong, we kept his stock as high as possible by not playing him that much.
