Maybe Metta already know that Howard will come to Houston? so that Howard can help James Hardenwin MVP?

Guys, stop the freaking out. 1) I think Robinson is still on his way out for something, probably the russian the cavs took at 19, and there are just other parts we have to wait for in order to finalize (other teams, other players (please let it be White), I don't know...Morey stuff).

    2) Even if we don't move Robinson, we have Asik, who is extremely tradable for an asset and cap savings. And Howard is not going to not come to Houston because we no longer have Asik -- he's not coming here for Asik, he is coming here for Harden and Parsons and the youth and promising development the team has shown.

Dallas doesn't have Parsons and Harden whispering sweet nothings in his ear, telling him how awesome it'll be just to play loose and fun while contending. Telling him he won't have to wait to contend with us, we have a team ready and waiting for him. And we can contend for years with us - he won't have to watch Dirk's hair go gray and have Carter calling him a young whippersnapper...

Dwight is going to get his max money wherever he goes. He will get it in Dallas, he will get it in Houston (Morey will MAKE a way, he will not let a 3rd string PF's contract stand in the way when it comes down to it). Other factors will decide where that is. I suspect he's already made up his mind, but he's going to enjoy everyone kneeling before him for awhile.

Lakers have no choice but to sign and trade Howard
Lin/asik/trob, jones, or dmo plus two future draft picks
    For dh12

Why would we give all of that up for him when we can make a small move or two and sign him outright?

No point in helping a conference rival if we don't have to.

I guess it's lucky for us that we DO have a choice. We have no reason to give LA anything, unless CP3 shocked the world and jumped on the Houston train.

Lakers don't have any choice in this. They can't SnT Howard unless Howard agrees to it. He gets the same contract either way and then goes to a team that would be giving up key components instead of just outright signing him. The Rockets have no reason to need to trade anyone to the Lakers unless they were not able to give DH a max deal. Trading someone to LA would have to be a last resort to make sure they had the cap space for a max contract. They will just dump T_rob and a pick on someone before they make a deal with LA.

Lakers just spent how much getting rid of Mike Brown ? Are they doing it again for D'Antoni ? I don't think so. At least I hope not.

With Brown being signed by the Cavs that offset a lot of the salary the Lakers owed him.

    This I know for sure.

    The interest is there.

Don't buy into everything Broussard has said. ESPN pushed him to get a story out because they felt pressure from all the other news outlets.

    Don't fret.

If he likes Dallas he might as well stay in La it's the same situation old team with cap room later down the line
