I'm not saying this was a bad pick, I actually didn't think Noel deserved to be a #1 pick.

But for those who have payed attention to Bennett, was this a good pick? From what i know, he's a Power Forward, so how are he and Tristan Thompson going to co-exist? Does this mean Thompson will get traded?

Best Player Available. High Motor, Relentless rebounder. Rodman/Larry Johnson Hybrid. Energy guy.

Didn't see him play much. What I did see was not impressive.

Bennett's wide body at age 20 reminds me of another Cav: Robert "Tractor" Traylor. Wonder how much Bennett will weigh at age 23.

Seriously, I wish him the best. I hope the Cavs have a great season.

They plan on slotting him in at the 3, I guess.

Guess we'll trust in Gilbert. He did well with Thompson and Waiters.

If everything goes right for the Cavs:

    Irving
    Waiters
    LeBron
    Bennett
    Varejao (Zeller? Thompson?)

Not sure if they'll move Varejao (prob) but that looks like a really solid starting 5. With the exception of the center position, I think everyone could create their own shot, taking pressure off Irving / LeBron to create for others.

Surely Oladipo was the bpa based on those critereon?

I think if there was ever a draft to draft position it was this one.. they missed out adding a solid player at the SF position unless they plan on putting Karasev there

    I see.

Personally, I thought McLemore was BPA.

As Lebron ages he will transition more and more to the PF position, I don't understand selecting a PF when you already have one/plan to take a hybrid in Lebron in 2014

Im used to that feeling as a Rockets fan though :p

This pick reminds me of the rockets picking marcus morris at 14 over fareid (noel), vecevic (Len), leonard (otto porter), shumpert (oladipo), and marshon brooks (mclemore).

so in other words, you think Bennett will be a bust?

Still not sure why Cavs didn't go with a safer pick...

In light of the discussion whether Giannis is Nigerian or Greek (despite being born in Greece and living there his whole life)...So, is Anthony Bennett Jamaican (where his mom's from) or Canadian (where he was born and raised). And is Lin American or Taiwanese or Chinese.

Not a bust. If he pans out he could be special. But there is a good chance he fails at his weight.

I read that the Cavs think he'll be a good PnR partner for Irving.

This draft is so weak that any of the players could've been the #1 pick. I'm as surprised as everyone else but there's just no clear cut #1 pick this year.
