He wants full control of the draft and free agency while also taking his time in finding the right coach.

    Pretty smart.

Just traded a 2014 first AND Jrue Holiday for Nerlens Noel.

I'll gladly eat crow, but I think he's nuts.

    He'll likely draft MCW now.

He got a 2014 1st and Noel. Great trade.

Yeah there was confusion on the television. I suddenly love the trade.

    Any protections?

Ya it's only 1-3 protected so could be a really good pick..

I agree, great trade. Jrue's stats are inflated, and his impact is far lower than they would indicate. His value is also at an all-time high, and he took advantage of that.

Plus, they weren't going anywhere with their previous group, and this puts them in prime position to get a high 2014 pick (especially with Noel missing part of the season).

Jrue is good but he's not good enough to carry the team like they need right now

Hinkie is smart. Holiday is good, but Philly got a lot in return.

If its a top 3 protected pick, then there's no way they get him.

Also I think this is a great trade for the Sixers.

He did...? I think N.O. got the better end of the deal. I think Sam is just trying to set himself up to tank the season and try to grab the #1 pick. Could back fire.

hinkie is doing what Morey wanted to do all along, which is tank. Les wouldn't let Morey do it.

They'd have their own pick too. Which is why the tanking was mentioned..

I was browsing through Philly 76ers forums and I came across one user who posted this. and a lot of others basically agreeing with him. Looks like Hinkie is doing pretty good so far!

"Jrue Holiday is out. Nerlens Noel, MCW, and Nate Wolters are in. We are going to have two first-round picks next year, just in time for one of the deepest draft classes in years. And now we have our coach, who spent the last seven years working as an assistant to Gregg Popovich.

And all of this went down in one night.

The Sam Hinkie era has been pretty amazing so far."
