Don't forget that they do have an overpaid but talented Taj Gibson -- who in many ways is similar to what Robinson's role would be (very athletic, solid defensive and rebounding slightly undersized four).

Perhaps they see a move being made sending Gibson out or they have decided to amnesty Boozer -- or, as reports stated before, they want Robinson as part of a larger deal.

i wouldn't want to trade him to the spurs if there are other teams interested. unless their offer is MUCH better, which i doubt. the other thread said they and the bulls upped their offer's for him while the cavs remains the same. well, so far i'm leading towards the bulls and the 20th pick.

i bet they want trob to package in an offer for LMA. hopefully their offer isnt contingent upon the blazers making it a 3 way deal because that's a long shot. either way trob is moved for a first tonight.

we probably won't hear anything until those teams make their picks. morey wants to see that the euro player he wants to stash is available first.

Actually, his college stats were not very "elite" and, as the likes if Kevin Pelton noted, projects into someone likely to struggle scoring in the NBA.

His TS% in his "breakout" junior year was rather ordinary while good NBA bigs tend to have outstanding offensive efficiency when playing against college competition-- check out Blake Griffin's college stats, for example. Robinson also tended to struggle badly when playing future NBA bigs like TJones and Davis in Kentucky.

These worries were confirmed later both in NBA summer league, when he struggled against fellow rookies, and in the NBA regular season, when his stats were bad even compared to other 21-year-old rookies.

The evidence is this: Robinson was good, but not unstoppable like future good NBA bigs should be, in vs college competition. His 1250 minutes played as a junior elevated him into a top 5 pick in the minds of some GMs. Later, he played more than 1000 NBA minutes and confirmed the "red flag" raised by his college stats.

The data simply does not show that there is much of a chance that this guy will be a star. Maybe a future Reggie Evans hustle player.

I agree, just wonder if there is more value to be had from last year's top five pick. Rockets really aren't in a position to sit tight at the moment though.

If we trade T ROB, we could possibly get Shabazz, Dieng, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Hardaway jr, or Rudy Gobert. I am a bit excite (I am sure we want an international kid to stash)

I like T-Rob, but the last thing you should want as a fan of the Rockets, is if for us to trade him only for him to become an All-Star, wheather he's in our conference or not.

If boston trades kg pierce, I could see trob and another young player or the 34th for Boston's #16.

Hadn't thought of that. Makes sense for both teams.

Maybe expand it into a bigger deal for Rondo?

Rondo + #16 for TRob, Lin, Smith, 34th pick? Seems like not enough from Houston, but Rondo is coming off of a major ACL tear. Probably not a good fit for the Rockets right now.

What about TRob and JLin for one of DMo/TJones and our 2014 first rounder for Rondo?

(Not saying I would even do this deal. But I have a hunch Danny is going to try to move Rondo tonight.)

It pretty much has to be someone who will be willing to play in Europe for a year though.

The only exception to that in my book is Shabazz. If he's out there, make for the hills kids, because I'm fine dumping three out of DMo, TJones, Royce White, Greg Smith, and yes kids even Patrick Beverly, just to make sure we have space on our roster for Shabazz.

Screw your advanced stats and birth certificates that say he sucks. I blame everything on Ben Howland. Exhibit A for me is Russell Westbrook who Howland also tried to bury and downplay via bush league coaching tactics, just so he would stay another year beyond his freshman season. How'd that work out for ya now, Howland? Yeah that's right. Like a dog.

    Draft Shabazz. I'm just sayin

Seriously? I think a 27-year old Four-Time All Star entering his prime is worth a little more than a worthless draft pick and 3 bench players.

I disagree with this. I think the Rockets see Jones & D-Mo as having significantly better potential than T-Rob. That doesn't mean they do not value T-Rob at all. In fact, I think they do so much so that the only the trade they will make involving him is one which would be good by itself, not to make cap space, despite what the media has reported. I think their reason from trading T-Rob is because they have too many power forwards. I could see him not being traded today if the players they want at #20 are already picked.
