    As a Hawks fan, too (I was born & raised in ATL, moved to Houston in '93), I can tell you nothing scares me more than the thought of Josh Smith on this team.

    He's not a good teammate.

    HOWEVER, If that's the route Daryl takes, I'll trust him on it.

    I trust that Daryl is smart enough not to blow that kind of cash on a player like Josh Smith, which is why this conversation is irrelevant.

    Add about 2% to each of those, but yeah, he's not a great shooter. That isn't what I said. I said he's significantly better than ASIK at shooting. There's a difference.

    Dave McMenamin: Don't expect an extended free agency process with Dwight. A source close to DH tells me that he will sign the first day available - July 10 Twitter @mcten

    here are his fg% from this past season. my focus is mainly on the % around the rim, but you're correct when you say that he is MUCH better than Asik when it comes to shooting. That being said, not a great midrange shooter, which is why I don't think that would be his role in our offense.

    Doubt it means "hot on the hunt," but that's clever. I'll take either of the other two. ;)

    Dallas is in the same boat as LA only DH12 would take less money to be the face of a rebuilding team that is not quite at the bottom yet. We are 2+ years ahead of those teams. Young, cash and a good foundation.

    Don't discount The Face and The Beard...

    The only advantage Dallas has is their owner will kiss Dwight's ass but Les already said he's meeting with Dwight too.

    Cuban vs No socks. A battle for the ages.

    The Lakers aren't going to fire D'Antoni, hence Howard will go elsewhere, ie Houston. Why this is so difficult to understand is beyond me.

    The "Where's Bobby?" "He's in the shower" is a reference to the show Dallas and the "Dream Season" where they killed off Bobby Ewing and then brought him back and wrote off the whole previous season as a dream sequence of his wife. When she wakes up in the new season, Bobby is in the shower.

    (Details here: http://seanmunger.com/2012/09/14/bobby-ewing-in-the-shower-an-epic-storytelling-gaffe/)

    Doc is simply telling you that Dallas is dreaming on getting Dwight. They've blown up their roster for nothing. Dwight ain't going there.

    You know, somebody has probably posted this idea, but we kind of have the A-Team.

    [IMG]

    Face = Parsons
    Hannibal = Morey
    BA Baracus (Mr. T) = Harden
    Murdock (?) = Asik (?)

    Dwight Howard just does not fit into this system.

    From a Mavericks beat writer, and someone that used to work in the Houston media. Him being biased and pandering to his readers is an understatement.

    What's really funny is the idea that they didn't truly go after Deron. Uh, they blew up a championship team just for the chance at signing him. He was their goal for an entire year... and he listened to their pitch... and he signed elsewhere.

    Owners pay the bills and if I'm flat rate (cash is the same), I'm looking for best teammates so I don't have to try and carry this team by myself. Dwight was tired of carrying the Magic. I doubt he wants to carry the Mavs through the transition period even if the locker room towels are fluffier. On the Rockets he becomes a feature piece but not the only piece.

    Yup. I liked him more when he was biased and pandering to Rockets fans. ;-)-
