    Am I missing sarcasm?

Pierce is going to be 36. KG is 37. Lopez just had his THIRD foot surgery. Deron can still be a top tier PG, but he has been hampered by injuries for a couple years now.

If this team was together 3 years ago then it would be a contender.

Isn't that also like a 25-30 mil salary dump as well though. They can do after someone else next summer.

Once KG and Pierce are traded...look for Rondo to get traded.

IF the Rockets get DH, trade Lin and Asik for Rondo and Courtney Lee (Howard's buddy)

There's absolutely no way they would trade Rondo...

Nets owner can pay all of these luxury taxes so he doesn't care.

Adding Garnett's "toughness" to that Nets WEAK mindset will be huge for them.

The only thing that surprises me is the Celtics wanting to take back Wallace's contract

I would like to see it happen.

I think KG and Pierce would do well there because they wouldn't be required to carry the offense. Pierce's shooting percentage has fallen off a cliff the past couple years, but if he's just scoring off of Williams' and Johnson's playmaking, I could see him being pretty solid.

And I don't think it's controversial to say that KG could give your 25 minutes of great play each game.

I just wonder how effective their bench would be.

Wallace's contract isn't an issue if team has to meet the minimum total salary threshold. It helps the tanking for Wiggins as well.

It seems like every year the Nets are giving away picks for some reason.

Well of course it's bad for the Celtics... that's pretty much the point.

This would be huge for the Nets. Pierce and Garnett still have something left to offer and on a team with guys like Joe Johnson and Deron Williams and Lopez they would thrive. Lots of shooting on the floor. They could really run anything they wanted for spacing purposes.

    Holy Wojnarowski!

    First initial thoughts-

-Will the Nets ever again have a 1st round pick?
-A 3rd team must need to be involved. Hence the Woj tweet inviting other GM's to get in on the deal.
-What a crappy deal if the Celtics have to take on Wallace' horrendous contract going into a full rebuild. The first rounders are likely to be extremely terrible and wont be renewed for years and years.

Yeah, you'd have to have at least another team involved. Heck, maybe more. The Russian guy has a multi-billion dollar fortune, so the money isn't an issue for him, apparently, but the rules of the league are, as is how Boston gets what it needs. Could be another one of those things just tossed on the wall to see if it sticks.

But isn't there that new salary floor essentially that teams have to be above?
If they have to pay someone while rebuilding it really doesn't matter who.
