If I'm the Celtics, Brook Lopez and Marshon Brooks are the only guys I would even consider taking.

    @woj

Possible Nets package. Expiring Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shenglia, and 3 first round picks.

    HOLY ****...

    Deron Williams
    Joe Johnson
    Paul Pierce
    Kevin Garnett
    Brook Lopez

That is ****ing awesome... Fill out the bench and you might have a contender there.

Can KG remain healthy, productive and intense? If so, watch out Miami!!!

    That trade makes no sense.

Considering Pierce is not worthy more than straight salary dump, and KG does have value but that's where the first round picks come in. It's a decent return for Boston.

If this goes down, Brooklyn will be the 2012 Lakers of the East ;)

I don't really consider KG and Pierce as "blockbuster" anymore. Maybe salary wise, yes... blockbuster.

Is Boston the first entrant in the tank for Wiggins sweepstakes?

If that goes down, Boston is clearly in full rebuild mode. Expirings and picks. No wonder Doc took a hike. It'll be interesting seeing if this actually goes down, and what exactly is involved, the players, pick retrictions, and so on.

I can't believe Boston would get three first round picks for those two, even if they are projected to be late first rounders. Especially without having to take back any long term bad contracts. Humphries only has 2 years left.

Edit: Nevermind. Wallace's contract is pretty bad.

    What picks?

It makes sense to me. If nothing else as a favor to Pierce and Garnett so they can contend without moving too far.

3 1st round picks for a 1 year rental for KG and Pierce then they retire? Ouch. Talk about being in win now mode.

The Brooklyn Nets are pursuing a blockbuster deal with the Boston Celtics to acquire future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The talks are centering around a package that would include Gerald Wallace, Tomike Shengelia, the expiring deal of Kris Humphries and three future first-round picks, sources told Y! Sports.

Garnett has yet to be approached about waiving his no-trade clause, sources said, but there's a belief that he could be convinced of agreeing to a deal should the Celtics and Nets be able to reach an agreement on terms. No deal is imminent.

For the Celtics, the chance to clear cap space and gain multiple future draft picks to start the franchise's rebuildig process would be the lure.

The hope is Garnett would be swayed by the chance to join his close friend, Pierce, in Brooklyn where they could play for longtime rival Jason Kidd.

One year left... Humphries is expiring after next season.

Also, I would love to see the Celtics get Marshon Brooks out of it. If you're going to give them a ridiculous starting 5 like that one, you better get the one young player worth a damn on their team out of it.

I don't think Boston wants to pay G Wallace $30M over the next 3 years
