Posted up a trade for LMA in the other thread

    Asik 8.73 mil
T rob (or 13' 19th or 20th pick via trade rumors) 3.8 mil
    T Jones 1.5 mil
Brooks 2.5 mil (if still under contract)
    '13 #34
    '14 top 3 protected 1st
    '14 2nd rounder
    For
    LMA 13 mil
    Barton 550k
    Another filler?

Gives enough assets in the rebuilding processes for us to claim LMA and potentially stay under the cap cutting a bit salary in this trade.

    Lin 24 / Beverly 23
    Harden 23 / Barton 21
    Parsons 24 / Delfino? 28?
    Aldridge 27 / Montiejunas 21
    Howard 27 / smith 21

From here I would sign dalembert vet mon and a 3pt specialist for cheap also add a perimeter defender

We all know Morey has his eyes on this, so don't be surprised if he tries to trade for him.

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Aldridge
    Howard

Lol, I was thinking about this last night. Is it a coincidence that both Howard and Aldridge came out one after the other saying they're not happy with their teams?

Who knows maybe LMA and D-HO have something planned....

It wouldnt surprise me if Morey got his version of the big 3, composed of Howard, Aldridge, Harden. That's a Heat killer right there.

Dallas can't have Dirk, Aldridge and Howard at the same time. And Dirk's contract is hard to get rid of.

At minimum, it would take Asik, Beverley, 2013 1st (from TRob trade), 2014 Rockets 1st, DMo. Even then, I don't think it's enough. They will want Parsons and for us to take back additional salary.

    look at my post earlier.

"how about: Asik / T. Rob / Jones / Delfino / Brooks / White / Ohlbrecht and 2015 1st rounder or 2014 protected first rounder.
for: Aldridge / freeland / Pavlovic + second rounder

    would that work?

Por get 2 young PF's and a C with Vet SG/SF and Future First rounder. I think this should work"

and even with this i believe we have enought money to give howard almost Max contract. or maybe even max.

Id rather have LMA over Dwight. A much more polished offensive player.

Is it possible to get both Aldridge and Howard while keeping our core assets (Parsons, Harden).

It might be possible if we send Asik to Portland and get rid of Lin somehow. Need to get rid of Robinson and White as well. Only problem is, we will be in Lux tax hell when Parsons is up for a new contract.

Anything is possible. Likely? Not even close. Other teams can offer much better packages than we can w/o tearing our team apart...and POR has the luxury of time. They don't have to move LMA now, or even at the trade deadline. They could do it next offseason even, though leverage begins to lessen for them. But they aren't in a rush...and can wait out the best deal. We most likely can't (or are unwilling) to offer that.

Well they could, if they could make a trade work. Get under the cap enough to sign Dwight (trade Marion). Then trade for LMA. The issue is they won't have enough salary to send back to Portland, and certainly won't have anything of value to send to Portland. They'd have to encourage a 3rd or 4th team to get involved... but again, what would they have to offer any team? Nothing.

The only "asset" they'd have left that either Portland would want or any 3rd or 4th team might want would be Dirk, because he'd be a HUGE expiring contract. But (i) I don't see Cuban trading Dirk, though if you're getting LMA you obviously don't need Dirk anymore, and (ii) why would Howard or Aldridge want to go to Dallas at that point. The team would be the two of them, Darren Collison, Jared Cunningham, Jae Crowder and Beaubois. Um, that's horrible.

If Dwight does go to Dallas, getting LMA afterwards seems very very difficult. If Dwight doesn't go to Dallas, why does LMA want to go there?

I just don't see Dallas as a player, ultimately for anybody. They can certainly get to a point where they can sign Dwight, but they have too few assets to get anybody else, and too little cap space thereafter to sign anybody else.

Houston makes sense because not only can they sign Dwight outright (after a move or two), they then DO have the assets to add a 3rd all-star level talent.

What does Portland possibly want from us to get Aldridge? Answer is nothing. They wouldn't get any better. But Morey is a wizard and if he can get them to take Asik (Maybe Lin? they have a PG in Lilliard though), fillers, picks..

I would love to get him, but i don't see it happening.

I would cream myself if this happened.

That should be the team to beat the Heat.

    Not yet at least.

I think he's from Seaville or something like that around the Dallas area.
