It seems that way for a reason, it is an easy decision.

Such an easy decision that IF Dwight were to choose Dallas over us, id be glad we lucked out on not getting that big of an idiot.

If he's dumb enough to go to Dallas I might literally laugh out loud.

Feel pretty certain Doc Rocket is suggesting that the Howard to Dallas is just leverage or as suggested a smoke screen. A.K.A. All a dream

I still dont think a Stacked team without the right coach would win. We see things on TV and read some news online/newspaper, but there is a lot more going on in the locker room. This is where the credit to coaching should be given and to the coaching staff.

We are talking about the NBA here, where you get the superstar and than everyone else are star players. You are not going to see a huge drop of talent/skill between NBA players. (maybe due to their age and injury)

If it weren't for the championships how many of you still think Pippen Rodman, or Kerr are above the rest star players?

My point is championships are not created by one superstar player, it is coheren effort of everyone from coaching to the players. If it isn't for that one play, one block, time out, one 3 pter, or one steal the result could be very different at the end.

I have no idea what he means here but this is the most I've seen him tweet in months, I'd love for a new thread today.

Leaks aren't in the media. All of that is fine and dandy as long as Dwight WANTS to go to Dallas.

Whatever team he WANTS to play for really won't have to offer anything to the Lakers.

That's why I put "stepping down" in quotations. Stepping down as in the same way Stan Van Gundy left the Heat in 2006. It's a nice way of being fired.

We should be most worried about the Lakers firing Mike D'Antoni. People keep mentioning his contract, and the supposed label Howard would have as a "coach killer," but a couple of years ago, Time/Warner signed a 20 year media deal with the Lakers for upwards of $3 billion dollars. Having to deal with paying a fired coach's contract for a couple of years pales in relation to what losing what was supposed to be their "centerpiece star" in the segue‎ from a Bryant centered team. T/W didn't do this deal to play second fiddle to the freakin' Clippers, a running joke for decades, with an owner quite capable of, well, anything.

We should be worried about the pressure Time/Warner is likely bringing to bear behind the scenes on the now confused and, IMO, incompentent ownership to do whatever it takes for the Lakers to remain the relevent team in LA in a basketball sense, which got them this huge media deal, along with their reputation as one of the premier teams in the league, a rep they've had as long as I can remember. And Howard being worried about the perception he might have of getting coaches fired? Players like Dwight have egos to match their size. I don't think that's going to bother him. What he's most likely thinking is why did they ever hire this goofus to coach the Lakers if I'm their marque star? What on earth were they thinking?

If Howard leaves the Lakers, I think he will be going here, and I still think our chances are excellent, but I also think folks need to NOT assume that they won't fire D'Antoni if that's what it takes to keep him. Naturally, I'm far from the only guy here worried about that scenario. Just thought I'd put in my two cents. A couple of more cents? A sign and trade moving Dwight to "whomever" for talent that would keep the Lakers a top team is more apt to be their line of thinking than keeping every scrap of cap room for 2014. There has to be more to the Lakers than simply their reputation of being the LA Lakers to lure a top free agent to Los Angeles, now that the Clippers play in the Lakers' own building, and have not only Chris Paul, but some good young talent. And now that every move Baby Buss makes that reeks of incompetence doesn't help matters at all. Baby Buss could have hired Jackson as coach, and we wouldn't be having these endless conversations about getting Howard, but he didn't. A healthy Bryant could have easily been the difference, despite Howard perhaps not liking the guy at all. Instead, Kobe has had a very, very serious injury at an advanced age, and his return, in both time frame and as something close to what he was before the injury, would have a free agent worried a hell, if he's thinking about signing long term with LA. And LA won't do a sign and trade with Sterling. I simply don't see that as a possibility. It would be with someone else, in my opinion, which I've certainly mentioned before. That's if they do something like that, and Howard is willing to accept the deal, whatever it might be.

Morey must be sweatin' bullets, and contingency planning out the kazoo. What helps us is that I think Howard wants to have fun playing basketball again, and I can't help but think that in his heart, he knows he could here. Meanwhile, if Morey is sweatin' bullets, Lakers management is obviously sweatin' atomic warheads.

41% believes Howard will sign with Houston, next is 21% for Mavs out of 46,000 who voted. I believe Lakers need Kobe to beg for Dwight, or he is ours. We have the perfect setup for Dwight, if he chooses wrong, it is on him. A very telling sign is tonight, if we lose players tonight for draft picks, in all likelihood we get our coveted big man. Bleed Red Dwight!!!

I don't see how anyone could NOT see that the greatest rebounder in NBA history and arguably the greatest 3 point shooter in NBA history were amazing players. Pippen wasn't exactly a scrub either.

Leaks aren't in the media = media don't know.

    Capital R & G = Rio Grande

Paper sketches = artist aka Royce White

Mock practices = D-League, which most people look down upon, mock, and consider a practice for the NBA

Translation: Dwight wants to play in the D-League for RGV with Royce White

    Great news.

Funny though how all of a sudden, Broussard is now credible. lol

People make fun of dude like mad on here, but now he saying what you wanna here, there aren't any crooked eye "multiple sources" pics every other post.

    At any rate....definitely good news.

If Howard chooses Dallas over Houston (smfh), thank your God his dumb ass didn't come here.

I don't think he's that dumb to pass up the Red and Gold, however.

He cant be that dumb, right???

Totally agree. Yes Dwight is probably the best center in the league, but he hasn't improved like the guys you have listed did on a year to year basis. Dwight needs to worry more about winning and improving his game, more than worrrying about being the number one option. Those things work themselves out.

LeBron came in saying it was Wades team. Clearly it is LBJ's team now. So Dwight, play, work hard to improve and if you do, you might deserve to be the number one option. Until then, just play the damn game.
