The spUrs liking him won't change the fact that he will always have a hard time scoring in the league unless he meaningfully improves his non-existent jumper. Possible, but not probable.

Out of him, DMo, TJones I like TRob the least, and he's most expensive.

Also it's unfair to McHale to say he didn't give TRob a chance. mcHale tried every possible PF option after PPat left. TRob got his chance... Just didn't do much with it. And given our offense it shouldn't have been that hard to pick up. It just required him to be very active, be an effective screen and roller, pick and popper, etc.

Are people on the board actually saying that? You're right; not only unfair, but ridiculous.

Of course, it's possible. His jumper isn't that broke.

I like D Mo the least out of the three. I value defense esp at the 4.

Well I've seen it implied that he didn't get a fair shake because Sacramento was so dysfunctional and then he had to "adjust" to the trade.

When in reality he had the same problem he always had. Can't finish at/near the rim against nba size 4/5s. Average defender t best. Average ball iq.

    Solid rebounder though

True. I just don't think any of them will ever be great individual defenders. DMo looked most lost defensively as a whole but principally because he'd just do something dumb and lose his man. Pure conjecture on my part but I think DMo has the iq and work ethic to fix that.

sure we do...when criticism is deserved or if it is at least done by someone that is remotely worthy of such criticism. Neither apply here.

yah I hate to do it, but if he doesn't eat crow after we get a great deal for T-rob in attempt to pursue Howard (THE ONLY REASON WE WOULD EVEN MOVE T-ROB AT ALL!)

He is going to be the first person I ignore.

Actually it's if Robinson didn't suck then someone else would be traded and Robinson would stay.

I think you all are taking the victory lap a little early. While I hope for the best regardless, if Morey does trade TRob only to pick Joey Dorsey's younger slightly shorter and fatter brother then I still don't see a win.

We are waiting to get the highest bidder. Morey seems to be leaking info to help up the stock and put pressure on offers we are going after.

I think the chances have always been that if it does happen it will happen during the draft.

You think we will tell Chicago who to draft before we make the deal?

I am not worked up by the loss of Patterson. I am only worked up by the idiocy of the "Look at TRob's huge potential!" crowd who thinks he has a great future because he got drafted 5th overall and can run fast.

What do you think TRob's ceiling is?

I think everyone's point is that there's no reason to get worked up over that, either.

There's a lot more and worse crap on this forum to get worked up over... IF you are going to get worked up over anything.

Just chill. Everyone knows your position. If Morey turns TRob into something of value, even if its just the #19 or #20 pick, you'll be proven to have been too pessimistic about his value.

The other side will be proven to be too optimistic about his value, even if its the Spurs and their "great" scouting/player development department that end up with him. He is what he is.

Solid rebounder? Average defender at best? He was more than solid on rebounding. While he did have problems with defensive rotations, he did play above average overall defense....just not anywhere close to good enough for how bad he was offensively.

I don't expect him ever to be an all star offensive player, but he could be a decent player in the right system. It is apparent that Robinson won't work with Asik unless he adds a jump shot.

As a baseball fan, I've learned patience watching prospects. His rebounding and defense project to Plus NBA tools. Still has a good chance to be a bust, but a nice to guy to try to develop.

Marcus Morris turned himself from worse than Robinson to rotation worthy in a season. Marcus Morris couldn't finish against NBA bigs. Morris's shot was further along than Robinson's, but he figured out how to finish against NBA bigs at a decent 59% at the rim after being so bad he couldn't fight his way onto the court. If Robinson can improve half as well as Morris at the rim, Robinson is a rotation player because he rebounds and defends better than Morris.

So your saying you would still be trashing Thomas Robinson, and creating multiple threads about how terrible he is if the Rockets drafted him in the 2nd round, or acquired him for the rights to Marty Leunen?

I disagree that this has nothing to do with the loss of Patterson, and everything to do with how terrible you think Thomas Robinson is or is going to continue to be throughout his NBA career.

Good news for everyone here though is that after tonight Thomas Robinson probably wont be a Houston Rocket anymore, and we can then turn our attention to again bashing a more suitable character like Royce White. We can hopefully get a few good days of bashing in before they waive and stretch him before they sign a free agent. :)
