I'd be pissed if he went with Dallas, but if that's his decision then good riddance. The Mavs ain't gonna be contending for a title anytime soon unless they pull off the miracle next summer and lure LeBron which seems doubtful. This whole "being the man" thing is beyond stupid. The Lakers are begging him to resign and pledging to make him the face of the franchise. Unless he really hates D'Antoni that much, why leave them for a nearly identical situation on a lottery team in a smaller market that pays less money?

Ha, it sounds like Dwight is uinsg the Mavs as leverage instead of the Rockets now. "Feed me the ball or I go to Dallas." Except the Mavericks are legitimately tearing down their team in anticipation of July 1st...

    ...

I don't think so. Stephen A. announced the whole thing on his radio show. I'm pretty sure Broussard announced Lebron was staying in Cleveland the day before the decision special.

I'm assuming this is bc D12's camp hasn't spoken directly to the rox FO. He probably has no clue IF the rockets would change their style of play or how. Until he sits with DM after the 1st its all uncertain for him. DM and mchale would just need a few mins to convince him of their game plan for a half court offense.

This concern being leaked might just be leveraging to make sure d12 gets what he wants in whatever team he lands.

Can somebody pull out the other BS report from ESPN stating Howard liked our up tempo style of play. If Broussard was a bit smarter when coming up with fake stories like this, he would've noted that Alexander stated he wants to play the uptempo style for years to come and thinks he can win a championship doing it too. This could be actually something credible, since if I were Dwight, no way I would like to play for a team like the Rockets if I'm used the way Asik was. Harden should be dumping that ball into me 7/8 times out of 10 and work the pick and roll with me as well.

We tried to incorporate post play in our system, problem was our center didn't know how to catch a ball.

I've thought all along that the Lakers will sit down with Dwight and say, name your coach Dwight, we will do everything in our power to hire the coach you want. I think Dwight will stay with the Lakers if he can pick the coach.

Also keep in mind that in order to sign Dwight, the Mavs have to shed the contract of their 2nd best player, and best defensive player, in Marion. There is no guarantee that Dirk will be anything close to 2011 Dirk next year as well.

If Dwight thinks he had a rough year last season in LA, it could be much, much worse in Dallas next season.

This whole report screams Dan Fagan tell Chris Broussard this for multiple reasons-

Most likely reason is to force the lakers hand to try and hire Phil Jackson and fire D'Antoni.

Second reason could be to force the Mavs hand at dealing Marion ASAP so they have the capspace and Fagan has leverage over the Rockets when Dwight hits free agency.

If Fagan really is trying to sell Dwight on going to Dallas just to make his buddy Cuban happy I hope Dwight is smart enough to see through that BS... something tells me that he's not that smart.

At this point, I really dont give a crap whether he comes to Houston or not.

What's wrong with a free agent trying to obtain all of those things?

Are Lakers too proud to let Dwight force a coaching change on them?

Oh, and this "scoop" has agent meddling written all over it.

I bet DH just wants to be wined and dined and who's ego wouldn't?

These are the things that get said to make sure you go through the motions. I'm sure Dwight's mind is already made up.

In his defense, he was very go at catching balls that ricocheted off of a board.

No. Stephen A. Might have announced it as well. But I remember vividly Broussard on SC the day of the decision saying he thought Lebron was going to join wade and bosh in Miami.

That's not cooking dinner. That's serving notice that you expect everything to revolve around you.

so 90% of the media think Rockets are the favorites, and this clown
says the Mavericks are slight favorites..

Come on.... Why would Howard want to play with an aging Dirk...
    Does not make sense...

    Not buying this clown's story

Just googled Broussard articles from that summer.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=broussard_chris&page=lebroncircus-100604

    June 4th:

    July 6th 2010 (3 days before decision?)
Now the day of the decision he was saying Miami, that is true.

You are correct he did, and then 1 hour before the special he said his gut said Cleveland.

The point was he did not have it first (Stephen A did) and he was not saying it well ahead of time.

If he chooses Dallas over Houston, I never wanna hear him talk about how he just wants to win! Even with DH next year, Dallas wouldnt be as good as Houston.

Oh and of course we didnt focus on posting our C up regularly... Our C is a clumsy mess on offense lol. I love Asik, but he's the reason we don't post up a lot! With Howard, things change!

Good digging. If you can, see if he sniffed out Dwight opting in/the trade to the Lakers. Maybe he is in tune with Dwight's camp
