Yeah, but if you noticed, that is what POR is asking for, not what CHI is offering. I don't know if they're willing to part w/ Noah for LMA.

I'd be willing to offer Asik + Parsons for LMA though. Even throw in another young PF.

Pretty sure we've at least made a call. Don't see any trades NOT involving clearing cap space happening until after we do/don't have an agreement in place with DH12.

Here's an area where a 3 team trade makes sense.

Noah to Portland, Asik / lma to Chicago, Hamilton, butler/picks to Houston. Frees up more cap space for a guy like Milsap, while adding a ton of trade assets

 

Why would he want to go to Chicago? He's from Dallas and played his college ball at UT. Seems like any of the Texas team would be better options for him.

Would it be completely silly of me to imagine a scenario where POR accepts a package of Lin + Asik + Parsons for LMA? Obviously a bit redundant at certain positions, but they can try to move some others for value. 3 way trade would make more sense. Can you imagine Asik going back to CHI along w/ Parsons, Noah to POR, and Lin...um, somewhere? haha

I think you're giving up too much in that scenario. If Aldridge has demanded a trade, then you can likely get him for Asik + young talent. I think you try to hang on to Parsons. If you do this you're likely out of the running for Dwight Howard.

 

I get that Noah is better than Asik, but is he THAT much better, especially considering he has 3 more years at $11, $12 and $13.4 million ($36+ total vs. Asik's $20 total left)?

It would have to wait until after signing Dwight, but if LMA is pushing for it, and there are no obviously better offers, I think LMA for Asik, DMo, TJones, 2014 1st pick, 2016 first pick and whatever Euro DM picks up in this draft would be fair.

Of course, Portland seems to have already turned down a decent offer.

 

Agreed. The Rockets aren't giving up Parsons. It'll be a trade centered around Asik.

 

he's the perfect fit with Dwight or Asik at center.
