Well, if we waived Parsons Bev and Smith could we offer it? I understand we're entering a realm of insanity, but if so then technically Stein is right. Not that we'd ever do it.

Using Marc Stein's report Rockets have set the price on Robinson. Playing each team off each other. Maybe the Rockets can nab a 2nd rounder or pawn Royce White off on them too.

okay -- so 19 and 20 gives us a great idea about what sort of range we are looking at and what sort of player would be available there.

I know we are looking for a draft and stash, so some possibilities would be:

    Adetokunbo
    Karasev
    Nogueira
    Gobert

I really don't like Nogueira and I don't know anything about Gobert, but I would be very happy to draft Adetokunbo or Karasev. The kid from Greece has huge potential and moves very fluidly for someone his size and Karasev seems like he could be a solid role player and would excel in the Rockets 3 point crazy offense.

Getting Schroeder at #19 or #20 would be a steal.

We've always discussed a European player to be our Euro-stash but I wonder if the Rockets have had any discussions with college players asking if they would go overseas for a year?

This would really open up the possibilities.

Also don't forget Dennis Schroeder, that might be the pick at 19/20

I don't think Karasev will last to 19-20.

Really want Giannis with 19/20 but shame Hawks pick right before.

I am not a scientist but I am fairly certain that is true. A quick google search should validate this.

Sweet. That's great value given the Rockets poor bargaining position they were in.

    So lets face it-

-This is better value than they would have gotten with Patrick Patterson, and there are more teams looking for a younger player like Robinson with much more room to grow. The trade made sense at the time, helped in the short term with Garcia as a rental, and made their lives easier this Summer to clear cap space.

In all reality, right this minute, I would rather have Thomas Robinson than whoever they can snag at the 19th pick spot, but given the depth at the PF position and the need to clear the cap space, I would be totally fine with this move regardless.

Maybe its because they are trading trob and all their future firsts to move him...since no one would want him.

Good luck getting the no 19 pick and taking no salary for patterson lol.

Sam Amico has actually been on point about these Rockets stories. This is a strange occurrence. I guess the more you throw at a wall the more that will stick.

Hmmm...if these reports are true, then it seems we have the Spurs, Cavs and Bulls all bidding on Robinson, all offering a 1st rounder. There may even be more teams trying to get in on this...who knows.

With that much activity it seems we might be able to convince a team to take on Royce's contract too. It would have to be a team that either a) thinks Royce can play in the NBA (none) or b) does not plan on using all their cap space anyway so can afford to release him-- and it would help if the team is very money conscious anyway so that 2 million in cash would sweeten the pot the way it did for the Maloofs.

In that regard I look at the Cavs. They are not expected to be huge players in free agency, so a contract like White's could be pretty helpful in hitting their minimum cap number without hurting their chance at next season's free agency.

I think a Robinson, White, 2 mill for 19th pick is something they might be able to pressure the Cavs into doing. I mean, while taking on White would either hurt or be impossible for a team like the Spurs or Bulls, for the Cavs it would not change their plans what so ever, and they could put 2 mill in their pocket and seal the deal for Robinson (and have one less pick in this train wreck of a draft).

I dont think this is true. He was tweeting more than usual last night and said he was watching a documentary, around midnight.
