I wish a neighborhood watchman would have stopped this individual before he entered this house. Trayvon looking in windows while its raining outside would make any rational human suspicious. Zimmerman was trying to protect the community. His intentions were good.
It doesn't matter if it's difficult or not, it's not beyond reason that Zimmerman feared for his life if he was screaming for 40 seconds. And furthermore to prove second degree murder they have to prove Zimmerman acted with a depraved mind.
We don't know that Martin was looking in any windows. I wish Zimmerman would have followed the protocol of the neighborhood watch and followed what 911 told him to do.
Because Trayvon disappeared from his sight and he was trying to keep track of him until the police arrived.... is what he told the police.
You're right. He deserved to die. Innocent or guilty, Zimmerman was a B for bringing a gun to a fistfight. He was looking for trouble and overreacted to a classic, neighborhood ass-kicking. This is why I don't react even when provoked. You don't know what people are capable of doing.
I wish someone would have stopped him to. Calling the police first, and then taking matters into his own hands when it was obvious the guy was breaking in. Looking through windows? That was the guys that "got away" and then robbed a house later, but were ultimately caught.
Suspended from school for the third time in one school year with 3 months to go. Suspected of burglary by school officials, vandalized school property and suspended for having mar1juana residue in his possession. We hear about 2 items that he had that night, what about the lighter and the THC in his system. His Mom kicked him out according to his own words. The kid goes to his dads house and continues to smoke weed. He's plotting to buy a gun. Someone should have been watching that troubled kid that night. His parents should have been because it was pretty damn obvious Trayvon wasn't interested in changing his ways. He had at least 3 instances of bad behavior that his parents were fully aware of yet he's still has phone, FB access and left at home unsupervised. If the Martin's had been watching their kid who they were quite aware was on an awful path in life, George Zimmerman wouldn't have likely crossed paths with him. Justifying the notion that confrontation was an appropriate route for conflict resolution for the guest of a guest in a gated community is ****ing stupid. Crippling a young person with the notion that he can't go to the police for help because of his skin color is wrong because it leads to unaccountable behavior by that young person. Obama, if you had a son he may have looked like Trayvon. The question is, would he act like Trayvon did?
Actually, the legal standard is fear of great bodily injury or death. Since the injuries he actually suffered would most likely qualify as great bodily injury, that is going to be a tough hurdle for the prosecution to overcome. They either have to show that Martin had a legal right to cause those injuries (ie that he had a reasonable fear of imminent great bodily injury or death), that despite the photos Zimmerman was not in reasonable fear of suffering great bodily injury or death, or that the danger had passed by the time Zimmerman shot Martin.
I wish the media didn't try and spin this as a race thing. So I'm damned by thinking that Zimmerman acted in self defense. Also: anyone else think West looks like Walter White?
Never said that he should have been killed. I am saying that bad parenting and unaccountable behavior contributed to his demise.
it's no different than Zimmerman's history of violence, hyper-vigilance, dishonesty, calling 911 for pointless things, contributed to his incarceration and arrest for murder.
This lady thought Zimmerman was bigger then Trayvon and that all the pictures posted by the media were him at the time of his passing. smh. These people man.
Or, more importantly, the next headbash to come. If a guy is banging your head on the ground, you don't take time to measure the medical risk or take a wait-and-see approach... especially when he discovers your legal firearm on your person and goes for it.
