Not sure what about the post was thoughtless. The Cavs always tease teams with their cap space or picks and back out last minute. The spurs, I'm sure, like the idea of getting a prospect. Especially a rookie who was dumped by two teams with much potential. I don't think a top 5 rookie has ever been dumped in a span of 5 months. They know that will motivate him, this is the spurs and they take everything into consideration.

It's potentially imminent, as in any moment the trade could almost happen!

I think the Spurs offer the best opportunity to develop him better and faster. I would just hate for him to be in the same division as the Rockets. I can already see him have some amazing games against the Rockets then become a well known Rocket-killer for the rest of his career. We just got rid of Jason "Stupid D**K" Terry.

Yeah, but we'd be in the exact same situation this year where we'd be forced to amnesty him because no one wants to take on that contract.

"Imminent" --- grounds for circumvention here.

Earlier today we reported that the Houston Rockets were in advanced talks to trade Thomas Robinson, we just didn’t know to what team. The San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls were to have known interest in Robinson, but according to Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio, a trade that would send Robinson to the Cleveland Cavaliers is ‘very much alive’ and that trade talks between the two teams heated up today.

    Per Amico:

Following a report by the Houston Chronicle that the Cavs have an interest in Houston Rockets forward Thomas Robinson, a source told FOX Sports Ohio that the potential deal is very much alive and that activity in talks between the teams increased Tuesday
Given Robinson’s talent, it’s understandable why the Cavaliers would have interest in the former Kansas Jayhawk but the fit on the roster is a question. The Cavaliers apparently passed on Robinson during the 2012 draft due to the emergence of fellow power forward Tristan Thompson and the undersized Robinson would most likely be a role player given the Cavs current roster.

There's a reason why a number of teams are interested in Robinson.

Dwight better sign on the f**** dotted line after we trade a player who I think has great potential.

I think scola could have helped us in the playoffs. bad move getting rid of him. Didnt his contract expire at the end of this past season?

NONE of the PFs stood out between the others. ALL of the current PFs so far look like bench or role players.

Hopefully if we get dwight we can trade some other players for a solid 4.

Man, I really like Trob and I also think that he got great potential.

Sad to see him go...if true. :(

People are going to regret all the bashing and calling him names. He's going to be a player in this league. T

here's a reason why the Rockets preferred to trade him after the draft when they can find out for sure about Dwight, b/c he's worth keeping! Rockets don't want to lose him but they know it's necessary and that he has the highest trade value of all of our PFs.

Nope. When we amnestied him last summer, he was still owed $21M over 3 yrs I believe. So he should have 2 yrs left I believe.

Also, remember that if Scola remained, we would not have been able to make that deal for TRob most likely, which doesn't seem that important now, except we would not have gotten Garcia for the rest of the season :S

Could we still amnesty him this year? So is the deadline for each year, or for each player depending on their contract?

Also, he was already declining. I think that factored into the amnesty decision, because I doubt teams would have paid $4 million for him with all of the other power forwards available. I doubt we could have got anything for him without taking anything back either. Teams that want him are already over the cap.

They have a trade exception and the Bobcats protected first round pick (unprotected in 2016) which I think is the perfect trade.
