I love watching mcmark get so frustrated and worried about Ted Cruz.

Has Cruz found a co-sponsor yet for his legislation about states being able to demand proof of citizenship?

Wow. So far still no co-sponsors. It seems like he routinely gets spanked in his job.

Hardly; even his own party thinks he's a putz.

    ^^

Cruz is masterful -- he argues based on fact and reason. Easily one of the very smartest senators there.

Immigration reform needs to happen, but what Harry Reid is doing is simply playing politics and not thinking about what's best for the US.

    Border security is a myth.
    Illegal immigrants are a reality.
The amnesty process is a bad joke on uneducated people. Only tiny numbers would ever complete it anyway. It's just a strawman to provide business with cheap labor.

incredible we still don't have a fence on the southern border

Fences have been used for thousands of years as an effective barrier to entry. Most of us have them surrounding our property for this very purpose.

You have a fence on your property because you think it will keep people out? LOL

I have a fence to protect my animals from running wild, to properly designate the property I am responsible for, etc. I have no false hope that if someone wanted to rob me or get on my property that the fence would prevent it.

To be fair, your fence is nonetheless probably a deterrent to this, even if it's not its main purpose. That being said, if you lived next to a canyon for example, you probably wouldn't put a fence up there, so the idea of a fence all along the border is a little dumb. Also, as noted, if someone wants to come over - or under - that fence, they could probably find a way.

Seems like these days it'd be cheaper or more effective to just use technology in some way to reduce/eliminate illegal entry, if that's the goal.

The Great Wall of China is a perfect example of how effective walls and fences can be!

A fence along the Texas border would be stupid. Since you can't build it in the middle of a river, you either have to build it on the Mexico side (not happening) or on the Texas side, which would cut off the river.

And by the way, nature doesn't like fences. Wildlife doesn't care about national borders and a wall/fence would really screw with Mother Nature.

sorry but "Mother nature" takes a backseat to our nation's security. What kind of a simpleton's comment is that?? There are millions of miles of fences in the US and yet somehow mother nature lives on.

Seems like a lot of spending. I don't want my tax dollars going to a fence that really won't stop anything. Then the increase of gov workers on foot to patrol these areas will be even more, pretty big government to me.
