78% with his foot on the line. 35-38% behind the line.

Jeremy better be working hard because you can count on Beverly working harder. And with the emergence of Beverly, McHale will have that leash a lil shorter on Lin.

Good luck kid. You're gonna need it...

I actually agree with this. Lin is trying to transform his game to be more of a traditional point guard. More assist and less shots. But he seems more like a rhythm shooter to me or a volume scorer. The more shots he takes the better he plays. If you notice his best games he shot close to 20 or more shots a games, even going back to his Linsanity days in NYC.

My take on why he shot so poorly to start the year?

Injury plus practicing too much during the off-season. Yes, practicing too much. Practice doesn't make perfect, it makes permanent. Lin was practicing on a knee with little lift, which indirectly led to him overcompensating for this by using too much arms and guiding his shot.

And as he recovered gradually, he was out of whack due to the results of his practice. But once he got his legs back completely, and got used to it, and got his shooting coach back for a visit, it got back to what the practice was intending to get it to.

And on the topic of shooting coach. You all want to fire a shooting coach that got a pedestrian career 32% 3pt shooter to ~40% once he recovered from injury, with that span lasting for half a season? Even Lowry did not improve this much this fast. Lin was literally the best or second-best 3pt shooting player on the Rockets in the 2nd half of the season. Surely either/both he and his shooting coach did something right.

Or am I asking for too much credit to be thrown Lin's way?

I feel like Lin starting at point is going to scare DH away.

I can't believe people still misspell Beverley's last name. I know it's minor but come on, get it right.

True. He thinks Morey should go get Monta Ellis?!?! Low efficiency chuckers are the stuff of champions.

I sincerely doubt it. Lin can run the pick and roll and pass the ball just fine. It's got to be more promising than relying on an injured Nash and Steven Blake/Chris Duhon.

I know Nash is great and has been for a long time but he missed 32 games last year and 20 the year before that.

I know a lot of people want to burn Lin at the stake but believe it or not, he can be better than he was in his first full year as an NBA starter.

Also, his first year as a starter really wasn't THAT bad. I don't really want to start that debate but whether he lived up to hype/expectations or not, he was decent at least.

I wish we could edit posts -.-

Go ahead and strike out the last bit of that statement in bold, it was the lockout year.
