They definitely will have enough. No one honestly thinks Kobe is going to make history and DEMAND to be paid $30M+ at age 35 on a NEW contract, and that LAL would pay it! lol please

Kobe's contract ends after next season. He comes off the books. Nash + Howard = about $30M, more than enough to offer Lebron a max and then fill out the rest of the team. If Kobe decides to play, he can agree to come back for real cheap, or maybe they'll even move Nash and somehow sign Kobe to a $15M deal. But he will NOT get north of $20M on a NEW contract at age 35 from the Lakers. I guarantee it, Zimmer-style.

This. Can you at least give us a clue? Is it huge? Something rockets fans should be super excited about?

Wow. Shouldn't respond to this crap but Im going to anyways.

I just implied that its going to be interesting to see if the Lakers make a trade "LIKE" a "KG for Gasol" type. Never said that it was rumored or likely.... much less that I was somehow rooting for it to happen.

    "Lakers fan".... That's a first.

I would love for the Lakers to loose Dwight(to Houston of course), and bask in their suffering for another miserable season just like most of the fans in Houston... but it doesn't change the fact that their a team in transition just like the Celtics who are going to be interesting to watch from a player transaction standpoint... However, that doesn't mean that anyone is rooting for them to reload and dominate the NBA.

The only reason I mention it is the fact that it would clear up salary after this next season to start the rebuilding process(financially) in 2014/15.

Just a thought of the "TYPE" of deals the Lakers might look to pull here at the last minute to entice Dwight to stay. I just think they are a team that could be active this next week... that's all.

watch this spin move at 2:45:

here is another impressive move at 1:30:

I wonder if Morey might try to take advantage of the Mavs by trading for their #13 pick because Schroeder is likely going no lower than #14.

If the Mavericks think they can eliminate the Rockets from being able to sign Howard by making them add salary in a trade thereby improving their chances of signing him they may be willing to trade it for very cheap.

is this the official Howard news thread now? I think it is becoming a 2 pony race

Y! Sports sources: @ATLHawks looking to move up in draft. @phenom15balla & jamaal franklin work out for ATL Tuesday. http://yhoo.it/14lPGCR

I think chris paul is staying in LA now...and so Hawks cannot offer a big 3...so ATL is out. They wouldn't be looking to add salary, I wouldn't think, with moving up. Or they would be looking to package picks for a second star to put next to howard to sell him on coming. Moving up in the drafts reeks of moving on.

I dont think the clips are a realistic option. Maybe if they nabbed garnet...but I think the clips orginization just want to try cp3 and blake with a new coach.

I think its down to lakers and Rockets. Which I think bodes well for us.

They would make the pick for us. There would be no fooling them.

    HOT RUMOR:

Just heard we are moving the starting time of home games up to 6:30 to accomodate the longer 4 hours games due to all the free throw shooting.

I don't think Chris Paul was ever really realistic. Dwight Howard still might be an option. We'll see. The fact of the matter is that Paul is out, and we need to hope that Lin can improve on his weaknesses from last season and play like he is capable of. His highlight reel is more extensive than plenty of the players on the list of better PG's that was posted in this thread. The talent is there, the consistency is not. Considering it looks like now he will be on the Rockets next season, all Rockets fans should be pulling for him to reach his potential, which I don't think he's done yet.

We need to leave the era of hope and enter the era of reality.

You're saying it is unrealistic to believe we have a chance at Dwight Howard and that Lin might improve? lol

All we need is a clear title for Dwight from the LA Lakers, then it will be the happiest week.
