As of the end of the 2012-2013 Season The all-time list was too difficult for me to handle, but this should be easier. Take into account: skill, talent, accomplishment, longevity, whatever... And rank as you see fit. Didn't see another thread like this on the first 3-4 pages. Lock or merge if I missed it. LBJ Durant Kobe Duncan CP3 Howard Melo Westbrook Love Harden Curry Parker Rondo Wade Griffin
Actually, that wasn't easy at all. And I don't even like my own list. There's a lot of young players and some vets that should be considered. Zebo M Gasol Irving Lee Horford D-Will Brook Lopez
Here's my Top 10. Not in order & not considering any past accomplishments just CURRENTLY who i think are the top 10 players in the league. Lebron Durant CP3 Westbrook Carmelo Harden Kobe Dwight Rondo Tony Parker
looks pretty good to me The other 5 I would add are Derrick Rose Steph Curry Tim Duncan Paul George then either Marc Gasol or Dwayne Wade
A little easier, than all time list: 1. LeBron James (steady, could improve or decline) 2. Kevin Durant (improving) 3. Carmelo Anthony (steady) 4. Kobe Bryant [call me crazy, but I think he still be awesome post ACL surgery and pretty good player] (declining) 5. Chris Paul (steady) 6. Dwight Howard (steady, though eventually decling) 7. James Harden (rapidly improving) 8. Tim Duncan (declining) 9. Stephen Curry (rapidly improving) 10. Dwyane Wade (declining) 11. Derrick Rose (I know he's injured, steady, could improve or decline) 12. Tony Parker (steady) 13. Rajon Rondo (steady) 14. LaMarcus Aldridge (steady) 15 (toss-up). Kevin Love/Kyrie Irving (both improving) Honorable Mentions: Deron Williams (steady) Demarcus Cousins (improving) Blake Griffin (steady, could improve or decline) Al Horford (improving) Dirk Nowitzki (declining)
added: Paul George (improving), Monta Ellis (declining) and Kawaii Leonard (improving) to Honorable mention list.
Ranked based on where I think they will be next season 1. LeBron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Chris Paul 4. Russell Westbrook 5. James Harden 6. Dwight Howard 7. Carmelo Anthony 8. Derrick Rose 9. Tony Parker 10. Rajon Rondo 11. Kyrie Irving 12. Paul George 13. Dwayne Wade 14. Marc Gasol 15. Lamarcus Aldridge 16. Brook Lopez 17. Kevin Love 18. Stephen Curry 19. Tim Duncan 20. Deron Williams
...... The anterior cruciate ligament isn't in the back of your foot. And I will call you crazy, because the achilles tendon rupture causes an unavoidable physical impediment to his acceleration.
As of right now: 1. LeBron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Chris Paul 4. Tim Duncan 5. Kevin Love 6. Josh Smith 7. Kevin Garnett 8. Dwight Howard 9. Marc Gasol 10. Andre Iguodala 11. James Harden 12. Stephen Curry 13. Dirk Nowitzki 14. Blake Griffin 15. Russell Westbrook
Just a comment on Lebron. I see no chance in him declining, he adds to his game every summer and is just hitting his prime. He will only get better.
Josh Smith at 6? Kevin Garnett at 7? Andre Iguodala at 10? All 3 of those players above Harden, Westbrook, and Curry? Crack kills bro...seek help...
All three of those players have monster defensive impacts. While Harden is far better than Smith, Garnett, and Iggy offensively his defense makes his overall impact on a game smaller IMO
After this season and "predicting" about next season: Here is my top 15. 1) Lebron 2) Durant 3) CP3 4) Westbrook 5) Harden 6) Dwight - giving him benefit of doubt that he'll be back to at least 90% of his health/athletic ability 7) Rose 8) Love 9) Melo 10) Parker 11) Rondo 12) Duncan 13) Wade 14) Curry 15) Gasol George, Irving, and Liliard can all make that leap next year.
I'm just glad that Harden is generally agreed to be in this list no matter what angle you are looking at it.
Also, Melo is the biggest waste of a talent in the NBA. Will never make his team better unless if he is playing out of this world basketball.
