In this new CBA world Parsons is close to untouchable. Including him for LMA would be a deal breaker imo. Plus I don't see why they would want Parsons since they have Batum.

The Rockets have no chance at Aldridge. If he's getting traded, it's because Portland's fully rebuilding. Meaning they want the highest draft pick they can possibly get. The Rockets package for Harden would be at least what it takes for Aldridge. I'm thinking at least one top-5 pick this year or basically guranteed top-10 next year, plus an array of other picks and potentially a young stud. Oh, and the salaries must match.

If the Rockets were to do this, they'd first have to trade Lin for an expiring + perhaps some assets. Then trade Asik for an expiring + the highest pick they can get. Then they send expirings to Portland(to match salary) along with one of our young PFs, multiple 1st rounders, and all the assets from the Asik/Lin trade plus perhaps Parsons. But I think even then, someone else can trump the offer.

It makes no sense. Aldridge is only 27 years old. We'd have to gut our team for him.

    Change of scenery trade?

    T. Thompson, T. Jones, rights to Giannis/Karasev/Gobert, rights to Llull, 2014 HOU 1st, 2016 HOU 1st, 2014 CLE 1st, 2014 NYK 2nd is a nice haul, similar to pretty much all other trades of stars.

Gallinari/Anderson/T. Evans+/Charlotte's pick this year could be put in place of Thompson and the Cleveland 1st.

Agree with you on Parsons value, but if the Rockets sign Dwight outright, figure a way to upgrade at PG AND have a chance to land LMA in exchange for Parsons, they would have a legit two-year championship window.

Depending on the final details, I might make that trade.

Good point about Parsons and Batum both being SFs. Obviously if the Blazers don't want Parsons, the Rockets have zero chance at getting LMA.

What, exactly, do the Blazers need? They are set at PG with Lillard, SF with Batum, maaaaybe SG with Matthews....so are they dangling Aldridge for a center, another PF, draft picks....? I guess Hickson showed enough last season to make Aldridge expendable for long-term success.

Not really sure why the Blazers would want what we're offering if they want to trade LMA. They need to go younger and essentially tank for Wiggins.

    Blazers trade- LMA
    get- Robinson and #1 pick
    Cleveland trade- #1, #31 and 33
    get- LMA
    Rockets trade- Trob
get- 2nd second round picks from Cavs

Wesley Matthews is a yo yo at SG. Sometimes you just want to kick the guy; other times he brings it. You never know what he's going to give. They obviously need a legit starting C.

They also need a bench, which was the most glaring weakness on the team. A couple of weeks before the All-Star break, their GM publicly admitted he wished he had built a better bench because he didn't expect the starters to carry them so well into the season. Most everyone who followed the Blazers knew they would eventually collapse and miss the playoffs.

Cleveland would almost guaranteed have the best trade offer for Aldridge.

That means the deals will happen before July 1st. That means we would trade Asik +??? for LMA before Dwight makes up his mind. If Dwight stays in LA (Clips/Lakers), we would be looking at next season with Greg Smith at center & no back up. Is that something we want to risk?

The only way I trade Asik + to Portland is for LMA AND Leonard. That way if Dwight comes here, Leonard's the back up 5. If not, Leonard's a young improving starting 5 with LMA at the 4.

Would be nice if Morey gets in on this deal for Aldridge, long shot but you never know. Would much rather have Aldrige than Dwight, this guy is a monster when becoming the focal point on offense. He's from Texas and I think he's stated he would love to play here a few years ago.

If Portland really will take Asik+a bunch of young players and draft picks for LMA, I'd do that deal in a second. Then trade Lin for a smaller contract and ask Howard to take a slight pay cut to sign. Aldridge, Howard, Harden, Parsons, Beverley starting, with Anderson, Greg Smith, some near minimum FAs to fill the rest of the roster.

I'm not convinced Portland is getting rid of LMA. You never know, but still. I would prefer Millsap. Very similar to Aldridge, but a better rebounder IMO. Millsap would also compliment Howard really well. He'd be a good option if we struck out on Dwight as well.

we could add another future 1st pick to Portland to solidify the trade.

i'd trade harden plus bev for lillard and Lamarcus, then ask paul and howard to take pay cuts. but that's just me. =/

    Howard/asik
    Lamarcus/asik
    parsons/Free agent
    Lillard/lin
    Cp/lin

seven men rotation, 44 minutes each, changing the way bball is played.
