Anyone ever been? Been thinking of hitting it up just to see what the hoopla is about. Any stories, experiences?

Tickets are pretty hard to get and I don't believe they can be transferred. I think you usually have to get them the year before.

So I have "badges" for this year and I'm going next month.
You have to purchase your badge like 3-4 months before and there is usually a last chance resale to get them and I think that was that was earlier this month.
It sells out pretty quick, so if your not online and waiting to get a badge(it was on a saturday this year), you are probably out of luck.

check the sdcc website to make sure

I've heard the lines are ridiculous and most of your experience is spent queuing up.

It's pretty awesome. You should go at least once in your life.

I walked into the Houston one, saw the line, went to a bar and a had a beer instead. There's nothing that could be in there worth waiting in line that long for. Not even cosplay t***.

Yeah, Comic-Con isn't something you can just show up to and expect to have a great time any more; The hype has made it impossible to enjoy without meticulous planning, strategy, and sacrifice since many of the popular events you probably want to go to are running concurrent with one another.
