Too Bad Morey Wouldn't. He passed on both while I and other were screaming he take Leonard. And I was screaming he take Batum but Morey wanted Dorsey more.

Letting go of Batum was one of the worst moves, even back then. I think not too many people were very ecstatic about the pick but I know at least some were happy and saw a lot of upside in him.

Didn't the Rockets trade Batum to Portland to get Greene for Artest? I'd do that trade over again. Not a single **** was given that day. Rockets passing on Leonard is a wash when every single team passed on Parsons. Again, not a single **** was given.

They only drafted him because they had "intel" and that's Morey own words on draft day that the Spurs were going to take him. With that knowledge they were able to sell that pick for multiple players.

Going back to that players as "assets" debacle Morey lost his cool once on the radio and said they "never wanted him" when Batum's name was brought up for whatever reason.

Had HOU kept Batum on draft night, chances are he'd become a part of the Artest trade package like Donte Greene became after a great summer league. So ultimately that didn't change things. The mistake that did matter that day was to pick Dorsey over better prospects like Omer Asik and DeAndre Jordan.

I think that would be a mistake. If Morey has the opportunity to draft a player like Muhammad or McCollum he should take it. Never know if he's going to want to pay Parsons and both point guards only have two years left on their contracts.

I believe Howard is going to stay in L.A. anyway. But morey shouldn't waste a lottery pick on saving cap space (he blew that with Royce last year). And CJ could probably beat out Lin and Beverly by the end of preseason. Alexander said he got them rubber band stacks of cash and he's willing to pay. So if Howard does come _ no worries.

Not true. Lakers have Dwight's bird right so can sign him to 5 years and 118 millions, while all other teams can sign him to 4 and 87.6

Or he may use the pick to try to trade for a player...

Right, as a free agent (after July 1st) they can sign him for 5 years. Before July 1st, like right now, they could extend him.

One important thing to remember is that though the Lakers can sign him for 5, usually that 5th year has a player option in which top players will opt out of so they can get one more max deal. So if Howard actually thinks he's going to be a max player 5 years from now, he will look at the Lakers contract in terms of the first 4 years when comparing to what the Rockets and other teams can offer him.

It's not that simple. Gotta have enough space to offer Dwight the max. You'd probably need to find a taker for royce, donuts, or jones with no salary coming back in if you brought the first rounder in this year.

Clearing TRob was for the sole purpose of clearing the Dwight space, they won't be bringing in a first round. They'll pick up a euro stash player or trade the pick/player rights in another package deal.

I think that a euro stash is the best idea

It's a weak draft what's the worst that could happen? A overseas player probably is the best way to go on those draft

Couldn't the Rockets send Ricky Ledo to play in Puerto Rico for a season?

would love to see the Rockets somehow get Gorgui Dieng, he'd be a nice fit for the rockets up tempo game.

Knocking on Morey for passing on Batum when we ended up with Ron Artest fresh off of a 20 PPG season when we had a ready to win roster is a prime example of revisionist history. Just shut up.

    Just for record
If we do trade Trob for a 1st I think it has too be a Euro stash with it not being against ate cap as many reports have stated as well

I am hoping for Rudy Gobert, C, France

Been watching this freaky dude play for 2 years now and I would love too see him develops under the Rockets

Pick him and let him stay in France get more seasoned and when he is ready and the rockets are ready bring him over 7'2 with an almost 8ft Wong span is freaky and it's neat to watch from a defensive aspect
He has lottery potential and could be a boom pick

I'm hoping for him just my opinion and wanted it on record in case we do pick Rudy and this guy is awesome or is really bad either way ill take the good with the bad
