Protests, riots and revolutions generally start at the smallest things that affect the smallest of people such as a higher price of food, gas, or service taxes. No need to stand for higher abstract deals when you're struggling paycheck by paycheck. Organization comes afterwards in response to how the government deals with those protestors by other people reading or watching a decently responsible media.
Why the revolt of the global middle class is a good thing So China should be consuming less because it exports less (because hard-working Americans...and Europeans...are consuming less); this drives down inflation. However, Chinese companies are instead speculating with their currency using false/suspicious invoicing, which drives prices up. Then central banks elsewhere (i.e. Brazil) drive interest rates up to reduce inflation, but won't this decrease income for many countries.
