Dream and Clyde talked about playing together almost every chance they got. Players like playing with players they're cool with.
Parsons is a piece of work. He apparently is the team "instigator." I like the "we are going to be good with or without you, might as well come and be a part of it."
Did anyone get the sense that Dwight has not give Parsons a yes? It seems to me that Dwight is leaning towards signing somewhere else. And maybe this is Chandler's way of pressuring Dwight throught the media to sign with Houston. I just feel like he's still trying to convince Howard to come here.
Not me. He said they talk every day. He said he answers all of Dwight's questions (obviously about playing here), and told Jim Rome that he thinks they have a good shot to sign him. I would guess that Dwight likes what he hears and wants to play here, but won't fully commit until he hears from all the teams that want him. He owes it to himself to at least listen to the visions of his potential suitors. Wade, Bosh and LeBron did the same thing.
There's an enormous difference between your first sentence and the second. I agree with the first. I'd be relatively surprised if Dwight has given a firm yes. I mean, this is the opportunity -- unrestricted free agency -- that Dwight has been looking for for years. I'm sure he's going to do his due diligence and meet with multiple teams and at least keep a little bit of an open mind going in. But um, leaning toward signing somewhere else? Huh? There are plenty of other free agents and trade targets out there, and Chandler/the Rockets would move on pretty quickly if they had that feeling. Chandler also wouldn't put out such a public campaign if he felt it likely to end in rejection. In addition, pressuring Dwight through the media? Uh, how exactly would that work? The media is pushing for him to re-sign with LA, like they have all along. My guess is that it's the same that it's been for the past six weeks: Dwight is leaning to coming here and most likely will, but he hasn't given a firm yes and wants to do his due diligence in free agency. And there's nothing wrong with that.
Right? Imagine the Lakers' crappy position since Kobe not only wants to do some convincing to Dwight himself, but he wants to do it last?! Mark Cuban, CP3 and the Hawks marketing team also have shown signs of trying to convince Dwight Howard; therefore, it does not look good for their teams either. Meanwhile, the Bucks are quiet on the front. And Dwight's camp has not mentioned them. D12 to Milwaukee is looking real good. Superman in the green and red. But watch out for those Bobcats since they have not tried convincing Dwight either. Those teams must have an agreement and firm yes from Howard. Life is hard as a Rockets fan.
When the big 3 signed with Miami back 2010, I remember everything was kept under wraps. Nobody really had a clue where Lebron, Wade, Bosh would end up. What I'm trying to say is if Parsons truly knew Dwight was coming, he wouldnt come out to the media and talk about how often they text back and forth, or talk to him about how awesome they would be if they played together. I dont know, I just feel like Parsons has tried everything to convince Howard to sign with Houston. And this is his last, maybe desperate attempt to sign him, lol.
Different circumstances. The big 3 were all free agents, they all had the same freedoms to scheme and decide in their own fates. Parsons is under contract. All he can do is lobby for Dwight to play here.
Good freaking lord. Can't the guy have some space and go through the meetings before making the biggest decision of his life?
Tbh, there is nothing wrong with Parsons and Harden texting Howard. In fact they should be like flies annoying him to play here. When people annoy you and ask you to come here it makes them look like they care about you're presence. I just hope if we sign Howard we can somehow pick up another star or semi star. If we can't pick up another star hopefully we can pick up a couple good solid bench players. I am just curious where the PF situation will be. Obviously we have Asik who can come off the bench to PF which would be awesome but who will be the starter at PF? and what happens if we have to get rid of asik for howard?
This makes absolutely no sense. We aren't entitled to an answer before he makes his decision. Quite frankly, I don't think there is even a decision made yet. He wants to sit and talk with all teams to see what he really wants to do.
