    1. Ok, you were right about the timing. I did not see Rudolphs various tweets until later. However, Cyberx's various post have been much more specific about Dwight - that Fegan was very opposed to Rockets (logical) but also that he met with McHale, that the Golden State lead was a plant to catch a leak, etc. That Lakers are going to do a full pursuit of Dwight instead of the "we're the lakers".

    2. As for last year, of course the Rockets' roster sucked and it was logical that Dwight didn't want to be here. But while the majority of posters insisted that we had the best deal for Orlando and that Orlando would deal with us because we clearly had the best assets, Cyberx insisted that Fegan was moving heaven and earth to help swing a deal to LA, and that Hennigan was fearful of crossing Fegan. He was maintaining that while the Rockets had a chance, he strongly thought Dwight would end up in LA because ORL would someone find a way to deal with LA. That's specific color beyond "Dwight doesn't want HOU, so he's going to LA", esp. when many posters here, at least, were convinced otherwise.

    3. My only reason for mentioning Chris Paul is to say that the argument that Cyberx only makes logical assertions does explain his posts. He doesn't just make posts because he's logical. He either makes posts because (a) he's passing along what he's heard or (b) he's trolling us. Given the people who've vouched for him and the fact that he hasn't been banned WHEN HE'S FLAT OUT SAID HE KNOWS CLUTCH, I'd tend to (a).

    4. I have no problems with dissecting his arguments, but where's the dissection? Are you saying that, no, Dwight doesn't like the LA lifestyle? That he doesn't prefer Phil to Dantoni? That he isn't interested in HOU? That Fegan likes Morey? That the players haven't talked to Dwight? That Dwight isn't possibly interested in playing for McHale? Which of his comments have you misproved or which hasn't passed the smell test to you? I don't recall anything material that has been disproven (doesn't mean they're all true)?

    5. He can only pass along the info he has (or he's trolling). Given that you have accepted that he's at least connected, that means he's giving us a piece of the picture. You can't blame him if people take it and say "cyberx told us dwight was coming". He never said that. So far its been "dwight is interest (and some details why)" and now "lakers have changed their plan of wooing dwight (with some details of how)". Maybe that's 5% of the picture. But it's 5% more than what we had from someone who might have more access than you or I. I also accept that he may be receiving information that has been deliberately planted by Dwight's people, but hey that's interesting to know too.

I think this is pretty well said, and I agree. cyberx is most likely a credible source that passes along what he has heard. Nothing more, nothing less (well, maybe less :p). We should take that as what it is on the GARM -- semi-verified insider knowledge that is subject to change or deceit. Heck, Dwight could come to your face and say he will go to Houston and be blatantly lying (or change his mind later).

That said, I think I know where Cat's coming from too. He isn't so much railing against cyberx, I believe. It is about some posters in the GARM freaking out whenever he says anything. They take it and run with it to frustratingly bipolar extremes. Cyberx said Dwight is interested in Houston?! OMG break out the champagne we GOT HIM! Oh no, cyberx said LAL is wooing Dwight harder now and Dwight likes LA? OH NO, heartbroken because he's not coming anymore!! Rinse and repeat. It seems tiring to just type (much less feel)...and to be honest, it is tiring to read as well haha.

The Cat, while I cannot speak for him, probably just wanted to remind us that, like any source, there can be flaws and changes and we should not go to such lows/highs, back and forth. It really applies to a lot of things, like inconsistent play from some of our players too, etc., but that's a separate topic lol -- I don't want to go off on a tangent :p

People say a lot of things. Call me when one of those posts gets proven true. I could say LeBron texted Harden last night saying to tell the Rockets to save cap space for 2014. That doesn't make it true.

All of that is fairly common sense. Of course Fegan was trying to set up a deal to LA after the Brooklyn talks died. Rockets fans insisted we had the best deal for Orlando, and we did. The question is whether Hennigan would stand up to Fegan or would be fearful. Rockets fans hoped he would; Lakers fans thought he wouldn't. If we're going to call cyberx an insider for "calling" that, then 90% of the LakersGround community should be given a similar title. It's called being a fan and wishful thinking.

Why is it that black and white? The things he posts that aren't logical assertions generally aren't verifiable by anyone. How can we verify if the Golden State thing was indeed a leak? Or that Dwight spent a decent amount of time with McHale on All-Star weekend? Or that the Lakers have supposedly changed strategies? Who can prove or disprove these things?

He makes logical assertions when it comes to his broader predictions. When it comes to details, short of Dwight himself coming to post here, how exactly can be he disproven?

I'm saying that cyberx's post about the Lakers having success by "showing him love", making Dwight "the man" and saying Phil is an "unofficial consultant" makes absolutely ZERO SENSE with the stated criteria. Dwight did yet another exclusive interview two days ago. Over and over again, it comes down to one thing: basketball. The decision for Dwight isn't going to come down to pats on the back, his amount of touches in the post or the fact that Phil is a phone call away because he's nailing Jeanie Buss (that was already the case this year). It's going to come down to what he thinks is his best chance to win a title. For cyberx to use those factors as evidence that momentum is swinging in LA's favor is illogical and absurd.

What you call trolling, I call being a fan. The Lakers might indeed try some new things. That part of it, I could buy. It's his interpretation of its success that I question, and I think his admitted Laker fandom plays a role.

Hm... I don't know if that is illogical or absurd. I've always gotten the vibe from Dwight that winning doesn't mean as much to him. I mean, it means a lot...but I just don't get the vibe that I get from CP3 or LBJ, who seem like they'd burn every bridge and disown every friend if it meant they'd win a ring. Dwight would LOVE to win a ring...and then party w/ his friends. If asked popularity/being liked or ring, I wonder what his honest answer would be.

Just speculation of course, but I could also say uh, what superstar DOESN'T tell the media that all he cares about is winning? lol

In the past, sure. But he's been incredibly insistent for months now. The LA Times interview, now the Orange County Register. The leaks to Woj beginning in January. He wants to win. He can't be more explicit about it.

He had the opportunity to be "the man" in Orlando and was beloved by an entire city. It wasn't enough. He had the opportunity to play on the brightest stage in the world this year. He called the season "a nightmare".

Could it all be a lie? In theory, sure, but I don't see the point in just assuming something is a bald-faced lie, especially when you know your team is looking to acquire this guy as a foundation piece for its future. He's been incredibly insistent, time after time, that it will be a basketball decision, and I think it's fair to believe that until we have evidence to the contrary.
