They complained because they wanted Xbox One... Everyone complained because everyone wanted an Xbox One but when they announced the restrictions every one went ape $hit and hoped on Sony's D...... Sony was smart and absolutely handled the situation to perfection. Props to them because they have a solid console and they are trying to take this from Xbox. They are the underdog and they are swinging hard but its clear right now that when Xbox removed those restrictions people started coming back down to earth from the Sony bandwagon and are open to Xbox One... I personally feel like gaming is a luxury and I support the troops but they should also complain about cable television not being everywhere and internet not being fully satellite because $hit all the commodities should be had when serving the country. North Korea decides to try something stupid? Hold on, almost done playing Halo Slayer match...
why shouldn't they complain? What is wrong with complaining and voicing your opinion? They have every right to complain and there is nothing wrong with them voicing their opinion that the Xbox One wasn't in their best interest. People that complain about stuff they don't like get a lot more done then those that just say nothing and accept whatever is given to them. Maybe they don't want to play PC games? Maybe they want to play Halo or Gears? More like when they are at their bases they deserve to have any form of entertainment...that helps morale certainly and lightens their spirits. How dare they complain.
For those buying the xbox for cloud computing. The PS4 will have the same thing. http://www.polygon.com/2013/6/12/4424022/sony-shuhei-yoshida-says-ps4-cloud-computing-calculations
As a person who isn't sure whether i want the xbox or ps4 i appreciate getting information about both of them.
Why shouldnt they complain? Because XBone is a luxury...would it be okay if they complained about not being able to go to 5 star restaurants for meals? Would it be okay to complain about not being able to play 18 holes of golf? Would it be okay if they wanted to drive Range Rovers instead of Jeeps? When you are serving, you are essentially giving up some of the luxuries of life...If they want to complain about something, it should be about having a higher standard of living in terms of better beds, food, etc...I would completely understand if it was just XBone and no other gaming system...but when you have the option of going in about 10 different directions, then yes, its quite silly to make a stink about something that is so minuscule in the grand scheme of things. And if they are so in love with Halo and Gears...the 360 is right there. There are plenty of people in this country that dont have access to next gen gaming, but are just as important to our society as those that serve. At the end of the day, those going on duty choose to be there...that doesnt mean they are more American than others...and it surely doesnt mean that they are more deserving of certain luxuries of life.
All those things you mentioned are things none of them ask for or given. Xbox and some basic forms of entertainment has been accessible to them. No one is saying they are more deserving than anyone, but to say they shouldn't complain or voice their opinion about these things is just lame. That's basically what you are saying that they shouldn't complain at all. Better beds, foods, that's necessity stuff that of course if they aren't given they will complain about too and they'd be right about that too...but humans need entertainment. Entertainment is also included into your standard of living. If you put someone in a room with a bed, toilet, and nothing else then that's a jail cell. and if they want to complain about the features of a certain game system then they have the power to do so. It's not overreaction it's "If this doesn't change then we'll not support your system." It's the same debate I got into earlier about how people shouldn't complain about XB1's features and just go buy something else. What did all that complaining and shouting get done? It reversed their policy in the end. Also the whole "They can just buy a 360 then." is the same mess that Don Mattrick tried to say and deservedly got heat for. It's a good thing they changed their mind on this, they were going to lose out on a lot of potential customers all over the world.
The reversal of policy was purely a financial decision and Microsoft caved in, not because they wanted to make people happy, but bc they have competition...I said it from the very beginning, if you dont like it, dont buy it. It's a very simple formula. I dont like Nintendo, so I wont buy it...Why arent people in an uproar that Nintendo isnt coming out with better games? Because there are other ways to be entertained and people have other options. If we only had the Nintendo, you can rest assure that the gaming community would be pissed. But, when you have multiple options, then get something else that suits your needs. If the XBone doesnt fit into the militaries plan, then they have options that are just as good and/or better than an XBone. Unless they really wanted Kinect 2, then I understand their whining.
Don't buy it and actually Microsoft would appreciate them telling you why you aren't buying it. Every company would love to know why a customer isn't buying their product and Microsoft was fortunate that people were loud about what they did not like about it. Also plenty of people actually in the gaming community always complain about the Wii-u and it's lack of games, that's all I hear about that system so people do complain about that. Why would they complain about the Nintendo? This was about Xbox and it's camera always on and the fact that they couldn't play it at all, forget quality when you can't play the thing. That's cool, there is options...but what people seem to like to forget is that business is a copy cat thing. If XB1 had been successful you can bet the next Sony system would have done the same thing and then what? Just play Nintendo?
Its not as active as this thread, there's prob more info in here about the ps4 then the actual ps4 thread. Which is good, because i want to read about both of the consoles and hear comparisons while not having to read 2 separate threads.
Well the PS4 launch systems sold out a while ago, now they are selling launch bundles. I wonder if it's selling more than all the launch bundles + the system (non-launch) pre-orders.
PS4 has more than one sku. If you combine them it will most likely outnumber xbox 180. Still good news for MS though.
As other people have mentioned, PS4 still may be ahead due to multiple SKUs. But, still cool news. Was kinda rooting for their sales to jump after their reversal announcement... just to prove to MS that if they simply listen to their customers rather than dismissing them as "the vocal minority," it will help their sales. Kudos to them.
You're comparing hooking up a game console to a TV and play some video games you own to......five star hotel meal? full course golf? driving luxury vehicles unfit for military operation? Sorry if this question is rude but do you perhaps have a learning disability?
People can complain about whatever the heck they want to complain about. Military people are have every right to complain about always online consoles, and underprivileged people have every right to complain about the price of games. Not sure what your "more deserving/important" argument has to do with anything.
