It's on a&e pretty regularly...but it's not quite the same after cleaning it up. I'd suggest getting the dvds.

I agree. As an avid fan of the show when it was originally on HBO, when I saw a few episodes on A&E that had been "neutered" by turning what was an R/MA rated series into an essentially PG-13 one, I quit tuning in when spotting the Sopranos while channel surfing. It has sex, drugs, incredible drama, some laughs, and loads of violence in the original, and if that seems off-putting to some people, all I can say is that it was beautifully done. And it all revolved around Gandolfini, who was just stunning in the lead. I would never have guessed that he was that good based on what I had seen him do previously. Oh, he always nailed whatever role he was in, like the part he had in Get Shorty, but the man rose several levels higher in The Sopranos. This is as good as it gets on television, and ranks with A-list film performances, as well. Can't recommend it highly enough. Just start with season one, and go episode to episode in order. It all connects beautifully.

Damn. I always hoped for a sequel eventually, either on HBO, or as a wide released film. And for god's sake, don't anyone give away the ending while discussing it! He will truly be missed by millions, certainly by me.

Count me in as surprised at how young he was. Wow. Certainly his look helped during the Sopranos years (weight, hair loss) but it's also a big tribute to his acting.

The Sopranos kick started this newest era of incredible TV drams (The Wire, Breaking Bad, etc).

If you currently subscribe to HBO at home, the HBO GO app has every episode of the Sopranos available. In fact, it has every episode of every television show HBO has ever made available including Band of Brothers, The Pacific, The Wire, Deadwood, Sex in the City, etc etc.

Its great if its available through your television provider. When I lived in Houston, it was available through ATT U-verse. Unfortunately for me, here in Montana, its not available...friggin crappy Optimum...

That was slightly funny but iirc wasn't there a scene in a Soprano's episode in which Gandolfini is doing the Bench Press? We don't know his workout habits but keep in mind there are many NFL O-lineman that look like they've never seen or stepped on a treadmill in their life, yet those are some of the strongers MFers ever.
