I won't be pissed if we don't land Dwight. We still have great assets and all of our draft picks. If Dwight have trouble with Kobe's tough leadership what makes you think he can have fun with CP3 and KG?

He will come here and leave the Lakers high and dry.

Gee, maybe bc he is an insider? He's expressly stated that clutch knows him. Senior posters and moderators have vouched for him. Do you think he would still be allowed to post the statements he's made if he didn't at least have some credentials? Use logic people. The doubters often attribute comments from him that are not what he said. Eg, "Dwight is seriously considering Hou" becomes "cyberx said we're getting Dwight!" Then when things change they blame him for a troll. Smh.

No one is saying the guy is totally a fraud. I know Dave2000, he's a good guy. If he vouches for cyber's position, that's enough for me. But not everything is black and white; it's not as simple as cyberx being "credible" or "not credible". Even the best insiders have their blind spots and get misled from time to time, for various reasons. One thing we know about cyberx is that he's a Laker fan, and people are much more willing to run with information that corresponds with their world view. The Phil story is a big "headline", and really, the only positive talk we've heard about Dwight and the Lakers has been in relation to Phil. Less than two hours after that story "breaks", cyber suddenly learns of new momentum or whatever. No red flag there at all?

It was on this message board for weeks. Just because the media hadn't put out a "Dwight seriously interested in Houston" story doesn't make it some secret. His exit interviews revealed a ton of frustration with LA, and Houston was obviously the best non-LA situation of his alternatives. Put 2 and 2 together, and it doesn't take a top-secret insider to break that news.

How is this a 180? Because they're letting Phil walk around the facility? Um, OK. He was already, you know, engaged to the team's president and only their most storied coach ever -- it's not like he was banned from the team.

It's a 180 if they show interest in Phil, you know, actually coaching the team or having any sort of credible front office position.

Everyone here didn't think Dwight was coming to Houston last summer. I was adamant that Orlando would trade him to the Lakers.

Maybe I should have latched on to cyberx and talked about pillow talk with Hennigan and dinners with Morey downtown and pickup games with Obama. Who knows what sort of BS I could have been spinning all season lol

I'm not sure if he is an insider or not and I don't mind his posts. But your own response should give you and everyone else enough pause. Clutch has routinely locked other threads for spreading rumors yet these threads and posts remain.

So much hostility. I understand people agreeing/disagreeing or liking/disliking cyberx, but man the sarcasm. Why is it necessary in this thread. Start a new thread please!

Look, I apologize. There's no reason to be a jerk about any of this. In the end it doesn't matter what I believe so I won't mess up this thread pointing out the issues with CyberX. I don't doubt he really is an insider to a certain extent.

FWIW, my issues with him have nothing to do with him suddenly being negative on Dwight to Houston as I am more negative about than he is lol.

I just want to hear about news and rumors about Dwight, not cyberx. Can you guys please respect this site and thread and move it somewhere else?

Yep, had a feeling he wouldn't have the balls to walk away. But hoped nevertheless. Besides, if he loves living there, why were we even talking about the chance of him leaving?

If the DH12 chase is over, IF, I say, then fine, let's find a way to upgrade the 4, or sign Iggy or whatever; but let's NOT continue as a team fighting for the 8th seed.

I'd like to say, Fill the 4 void until KLove can opt out, but Parsons will be looking to get paid in the meantime.

Just don't see the Lakers really giving in to do it... Especially with the Clipps.

PERSONALLY - I don't think it would be that bad for the Lakers to take Griffin and Bledsoe.

There is a difference between vouching for someone and saying "THIS GUY IS THE GREATEST, MOST INFALLIBLE SOURCE EVER".

For starters, Clutch hasn't posted word one about him, to my knowledge. He says he met Clutch. OK, I can say I met Dwight Howard last night. That doesn't make it accurate. I'm not accusing the guy of being a liar, but some of you are taking enormous leaps with this.

Second, Dave2000 vouched for his position. Do you guys realize how many people around the league have similar positions to cyberx? There are hundreds, maybe more. Do you guys think they all have top-secret intel that the likes of even Woj/Stein don't have? Do you think there's some secret sports agency society?

Most barely have more true information than we do. Many point-blank lie in order to advance an agenda. Others are lied to by their bosses or peers. Some exaggerate for attention. I don't doubt cyberx is a professional. But that, and that alone, is what he's been "vouched for". To take everything he says as gospel, without questioning... that's a leap some of you are making on your own.

To CLARIFY - I never said chances of Dwight coming to Houston are DEAD, nor did I say it was a LOCK for him to go back to the Lakers.

Wish I could apologize for all the posters coming out of the douchework but it is the Internet, after all.

I'll take all this as: Dwight would prefer to stay in L.A. but his giant schl---er, ego needs massaging first. L.A. just woke up to that and doesn't want the embarassment of losing a star of his caliber. Dwight and that ego don't mind the Rockets attention, and he has genuine interest, but only if L.A. doesn't come around.

I say focus on Plan B Power Point and keep Dwight simmering. I'm tired of free agents using the Rockets to get ahead.

My issue isn't you. I've actually defended you a bit in the past couple months. It's the people who jump off the deep end after any piece of "news" and treat it as gospel.

My agenda isn't to discredit you, or anyone. It's to get folks to try and approach this with a level head, which means to take a step back, breathe and honestly evaluate a piece of information on its merits.

You want Dwight Howard to stay with the Lakers. That's a fact, and changing the narrative would potentially benefit that cause. You posted your "Lakers momentum" tidbit two hours after the attention-grabbing Phil headline stories. Your stated criteria that's supposedly changing things -- showing Dwight love and making him "the man" -- flies in the face of every public statement made by Dwight for months.

Does that inherently make what you said wrong? Nope. Does it make you a fraud? No. But are they red flags on this particular piece of information? Sure.

It's nothing against you. I've done the same on pieces of intel from plenty of other sources. You could do the same against me, if I claim something -- certainly, I'm biased because I'd like to see Dwight here. No one is infallible, except maybe Woj. ;)

I don't think anyone dislikes cyberx. This place would be a lot more boring without his posts, tbh. I hope we go through this every summer - at least until the Rockets are playing in the summer. Hopefully that's not too far away.
