Someone explain how this makes the Celtics better? They'll be paying close to MAX money for a center that isn't even that good.

They essentially did the Clippers a huge favor. Can someone fill me in here on how this makes sense for the Celtics?

Clippers for most hated team in recent history next to Heat with:
    • Chris Paul - ultimate flopper,
    • Griffin - ultimate p***y,
    • Garnett - most disrespectful and patronizing player ever
    • Barnes - ultimate punk
    • Odom - most babied player in love with LA

KG and Doc were both highly considering retirement this offseason. At least this way the Celtics get 1st round draft picks out of it. And KG and Doc can compete together on a playoff team with 2 All-Stars already in place.

It's not meant to make them better, it's meant to make them worse.

They want Andrew Wiggins, and you've got no hope of doing that with KG and Pierce

They may still sign Paul Pierce and trade for D12. So they still get more obnoxious and unlikable.

Whats troubling, esp from the Rockets perspective is now the Clips can offer Blake and Bledsoe to the Lakers for Dwight. LAL will have to think long and hard to reject it and have him walk away for nothing

Yeah, the Lakers are going to make their cross town rivals contenders for the next half decade. Sure.

Lakers will not do favors for Clippers. They have too much pride than let a player run their franchise. They may do favors for Kobe, but no way they will make let Clippers form a super team.

I remember someone here telling me that Garnett and Howard hate each other. How much would that matter?

Dwight will not be playing for the Clippers.

It'll be LAL or Houston as it has been for a while now.

So are the celtics just going to waive pp and gift him to the clippers also?

    Probably.

Unless they can trade him to a team like N.O. along with those 2 draft picks they just got and $3 million for Eric Gordon. (I didn't check to see if they had cash left. But if they did, then can feed N.O. $3 million to help with Pierce's buyout. Then the Clippers can feed N.O. another $2 million after the July Moratorium for some future second round draft picks.)

It is very confusing as to why their value for Jordan(especially at his price) is that high. There must be something we dont know about this deal that is involved.

Maybe there is cash involved going to the Celtics that is going towards them buying out Pierce as well later on? Who knows until we actually see the entire deal that is finalyzed.

My guess is they are in a rush to expedite their rebuilding process, and feel like there wont be any other options for trading KG. Also, they would be paying essentially a lame duck coach 7 million dollars next season to coach a team he really didn't want to coach.

So my guess is they are just overly desperate to rebuild, and are jumping at the first, and possibly only, chance to move KG/Doc/ & possibly Pierce in a separate deal.

Any teams linked to trading for him? I could see Indiana, trading granger (assuming he's healthy), not sure who else wants pierce but maybe a team that wants to unload a big contract and then immediately waive him. There's no way pierce stays on a rebuilding team.

With Boston wanting to expedite the youth/rebuild movement, I doubt Granger is a viable option for them to consider unless it helps them rebuild.

However, if Indiana gives them decent draft picks in the deal, I could see Ainge being very enticed to do the deal.

For Indiana though, its sort of a wash talent for talent(IMO), and the main reason why they would look to move Granger would be for salary cap reasons to begin with. The deal doesn't make sense unless they just really, really think Paul Pierce has something left in the tank and can take them over the top.

Most likely teams wanting Pierce are probably going to wait for Boston to buy him out first. Its almost certainly going to happen either way so why give up assets to get him at that salary when you can just be patient and you might be able to snag him on a very light veteran salary after he's waived.
