Good enough to make the playoffs. Not good enough to do anything else. We're going to waste away his prime and then he's going to leave this team to play for someone that can actually do something. Treadmill of mediocrity. Even though that held true even when we had two stars (McGrady, Yao) we had a higher ceiling than Harden is going to have carrying the team by himself.
Chris Bosh isn't obliterating anything except the assholes of homosexual men. Seriously, a defensive-minded C/PF is all you need to stunt Miami.
That's maybe for the best, Houston deserves better than a center who doesn't want to work hard like Dream, Moses, Hayes, Yao, Deke etc. Like others have said, let's go for that PF.
All things being equal, i don't think anyone thought he'd pick Houston over LA in a void. But then in a void, Lebron would be in NY. I want to grow with a young team I love being in LA I want to play with CP3 He's already created the media narrative for any and every decision, well played Dwight, well played.
Wow, even when we have a young team with stars we STILL get used by the top Free Agents. Forget Dwight. Let him rot in Laker Land. We'll get another star eventually anyway.
I think it is still fluid because Dwight is a known flip-flopper. Kobe recently said he was in contact with Dwight, but its been weeks since they've contacted each other. I still think if Kobe says the right word, Dwight will stay, but I don't think he has said the magic word. LA Times said that the Lakers will not do a sign and trade for Dwight, either he signs with them, or they are going to let him go. We may not get him, but the Rockets have a lot of players to choose from and I'm sure we will have a longer playoff run next year. I'm ready for Dwightmare gone this year, once and for all.
Morey just moves on to the next guy, that's what Morey does. He goes back to the drawing board and usually when something doesn't work out, he comes up with something better. I would love to have Howard but Harden is 23, I'm not flipping out yet about this. Another opportunity will present itself
Oh geez guys, don't start crying now. This year was fun. Another year of development with our young squad will be fine. Odds are next year we'll improve over this year, land in a 4-6 seed, be even more attractive and still have cap room.
On the bright side, we get to keep T-Rob. He's obviously no Dwight Howard, but I'm interested to see his development. He's so athletic, and already posseses elite rebounding skills. I hope he starts next year and if he ends up being a solid enough PF, then we got ourselves a possible contender.
If that's all it takes for you to "move on", then there's some rich irony in calling Dwight weak minded.
How am I weak minded? It's clear that Dwight was just using the rockets as leverage. There's no point in coming to read Dwight Howard threads anymore, knowing that we already know how this will end up.
Clear based on what, exactly? The word of an admitted Laker fan whose status as an insider is self-proclaimed? Dwight has made clear time and time again that his decision will be based on winning, yet more than anything, he supposedly wants to be loved and to be "the man" and all that bull****? I don't buy it for one second. He had that in Orlando. He wants a roster that can help him win a title. That's just the Laker fairytale line of thinking because they know they can't compete with Houston on basketball merit. cyberx hasn't posted in weeks, and he comes out of hiding on the day of a fake Laker report (the "Dwight doesn't want to go to Houston" line that RedDynasty trolled us with, which has since been locked up even on LG) and after Phil Jackson was named as an unofficial consultant (LOL, what does that even mean?). Surprise, surprise. It's a game of framing, especially with social media these days, and if you can't see when you're getting trolled, more power to you, I suppose. But I can call you weak minded for it. For me, I'll stick with guys that are proven, like @WojYahooNBA. From this morning:
