It's pretty obvious Wade has to work on his jumpshot, esp. 3pt shot for this team to continue to be dominant. Lebron is at his best when the floor is spaced with shooters all over.
LOL this is just blind hate...as if a "brick" is any worse than a "miss"... My goodness that is dumb...
Some of the negative claims made about Lebron James in this thread...I ask, do you even watch basketball?
Of course its worse. A player who is considered the "Best in the Game" and one that is being mentioned among "The very greatest ever" should never miss a shot that badly in that moment. He barley grazed the rim! That shows his nervousness over making the shot. A lack of confidence in himself in that moment...something Jordan, Bird, Magic and others didn't ever have in that moment. Why is it that because I don't slobber over this guy's every move its considered "blind hate"? Perhaps your lack of objectiveness over this guy should be considered "blind loyalty"?
Why do you keep talking about Jordan, Bird, and Magic as if you watched all their games? Because if you don't think they ever made bad turnovers or airballs in critical situations, you haven't watched them at all. Like I said earlier, Magic was called "Tragic" for a reason, and that was because he completely fell apart in the 1984 Finals. Bird had many subpar Finals performances where he put up good all-around statlines without the scoring you expected from him. And Jordan, before he was known as the 6-time champion GOAT was always criticized for ballhogging and not able to ever advance past the Pistons. You don't think he would have been crucified if the Internet existed in the mid 80s? Give me a break. You just hold LeBron to a far higher standard than these other legends.
Of course. No player is perfect. I never claimed that. But remember, I didn't start the comparison between Lebron and these guys. (By the way, I did watch just about every playoff game of these 3 guys...you'll just have to trust me on that one.) If you're willing to admit Lebrons not in their class yet, then we are probably in agreement about his talent level. But If you aren't, then I would simply say those 3 guys have a total of 14 NBA titles...and they would have had more if they weren't PLAYING AGAINST EACH OTHER. Lebron so far is 1 for 3 and is a Ray Allen 3 pointer away from being 1 for 4. No comparison.
Titles are a terrible way to judge players because it is a team accomplishment. The fact is that Larry and Magic were surrounded by HOFers for most of their career. Jordan started on a ****ty team just like LeBron, and he didn't win any titles until about the same time LeBron won his. Almost certainly LeBron will end his career with multiple titles and more accolades than any of these guys, so he will rightly be in the same tier of history. You just can't see that now because you are living in the past. In twenty years, some new kid will come along and people will be doing the same thing, saying, "he's no LeBron". It's just how sports work.
Haha you think this Heat team without Lebron could challenge any team with Lebron...you're out of your damn mind.
It's not a bad way to judge players if they had similar opportunities. If LeBron loses this series it won't be because he was playing on a bad team or a less talented team. If LeBron plays 3-5 more years on a team as talented as the Heat the number of titles argument is very relevant.
IF that happens, you will be correct. BUT IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET. Thats why its silly to compare him to the absolute greats. Maybe one day, but not this day.
I agree absolutely and so far in three years with talent, LeBron has been to the Finals three times, with one title and one likely to come. That's a pretty good track record. Like I said when the trade was made, I fully expected LeBron to win four or more titles along with the usual accolades, which would give him an all-time great resume. If the Heat win tomorrow, he'll be halfway there with probably eight more years left in his career, so I don't think it's unrealistic at all.
You should hold LeBron to a far higher standard than those legends, because LeBron has the advantage of learning from their games and has access to improved training and medical techniques that they never had access to.
But you can also say, it wouldn't have been a 12 point game at the start of the fourth if Lebron didn't derp around for the 1st 3 quarters shooting 3-12.
Aint nutin wrong with blind hate, you should try it, it makes watching games that much more fun and satisfying
That only goes to show how ridiculously high the standards are for Lebron. If a guy can score 16 points in the 4th/overtime, and pretty much single-handedly bring his team back from a double digit deficit in an elimination game (and oh, by the way, play great defense against the other team's best offensive player), and people still say he wasn't good enough, you clearly think he belongs in the GOAT conversation. Because no one except the GOAT would be considered a failure after that effort.
