http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=239895 Apparently Morey visits Clutchfans, I wonder if he's ever seen these drafts and has come here for some nice player evaluations... wait, what if one of our draft brehs is Morey himself?!?!
Nash&Reggie backcourt would create such havoc on defense, this is stupid. Wouldn't be able to defend 1on1 and the help defense for frontcourt would be absolutely terrible, leaving space for drives and open shooters. But I see we haven't been judging defense the last few drafts, some of the winners looked like Knicks or Suns 2.0, absolutely no playoff material vs. good defensive teams in slowed down playoff games. But I guess defense doesn't matter anymore and it's all about "xy has more scorers, he would score more points". I'm done with these drafts if the judging stays like this ****.
How come Ibaka-Hakeem won the last draft if we haven't been judging defense? Hehe. While I think Ibaka's overall D is a bit overrated, clearly, people care about D. If we are talking defense, Jamers has an incomparably better defensive bench that includes one of the best perimeter defenders of all time if Wade becomes too much of a problem. Cooper could shoot too in his prime. An easy swap for Reggie -- who by the way wasn't a horrible overall defender either, his off the ball defense was very solid and he competed hard, he was just mediocre on ball and couldn't guard Jordan. I think Wade is a major problem for him, but again, Cooper if it becomes too much of a problem. But you also have to look at the other side. Yes, you have some great defenders. But the other team has 20-40 pounds advantage at every single frontcourt position. They also have great shooting and a brilliant point guard. Clearly, it's a mismatch on that end as well.
I don't know, i think it's been all over the place. There have been many wins/losses i agree with and many i disagree with. I don't see a clear pattern, I think there have been some r****ded pro-defense calls that made me wonder if people actually watch basketball ("OMG, Shane Battier, defense, WINNN" type of votes). And there have been pro-offense calls. In the end, if there are two similarly talented teams, and there's no clear problem or advantage in some mismatch, then it's just is close. It's not about offense or defense, you can win both ways, and in real life the best teams tend to be balanced. And in a draft like this, i think you definitely have to have a good offense to win. Most of these guys can be slowed down only a little, not stopped. There's no shutting down, unless the other team is poorly built or has useless players. A team of superstars that don't fit is defending itself, better than any defense could defend them.
Maloe vs Jvu FC: Maloe - Pippen and Garnett are all time greats, Mutombo is one of the greatest defensive bigs of all time. Ewing > Mt. Mutombo. McAdoo<Garnett Green<<<Pippen BC: Jvu - Kidd and MJ? Too sick. MJ>> TMAC and Kidd>> Penny. Not really fair. OFF: JVU - Kidd, MJ, Ewing, McAdoo and Green now apparently are all offensive minded players. Maloe only has has backcourt as real offensive pushers, KG and Pippen can score but that isn't their primary purpose. DEF: Maloe - His FC might be the best defense in this draft. BC wise he has size, but not sure about actual stoppers. JVU has a beast def BC, but I dont know how good Ewing and McAdoo will hold down the paint. Slight edge here to Maloe BENCH: WOW. dead even. CHEM: JVU- I think his team is very well built. Kidd will run this offense beautifully. Nice Inside out game can be played. Winner JVU
I honestly like it like that. There shouldn't be a shoo in winner. it keeps suprised comin and I hate the predictable. I mean Why do you think I started Danny green? It's all fun man hah

RedN... Lca us much better with Wallace and Duncan starting but Wallace against wilt and parish will be a weak spot... I like RedN defense to win this one along with the size advantage... Jmc... I really really like his team, i think Moses could handle Malone while i also think Yao over works gasol... BigMaloe
