i've been critical of lebron all season but lebron brought them back in the 4th, not to mention he hit the 3 before ray allen hit the last shot.
I think it always counts in an elimination game but maybe that's just me? You haven't watched much basketball if you don't remember Magic having bad Finals performances (also a 32/11/10 game by LeBron isn't exactly a bad Finals performance but that's another argument). His nickname was "Tragic" if that gives you a clue.
See, I think nobody denies he is the best player in the entire NBA NOW. But if you guys can just tone it down a little bit and stop calling him "The chosen one", future "GOAT" all the time, maybe I can start to like him a little bit more.
Agree with everything you said but this is up for debate. especially after tonights turnover fest. again lebron is good but stop trying to create the next thing guys. He is not it. please move on. I hear great things about wiggins. Maybe he will be the one.
Who is calling him that? Look at the title of this thread, and note it lasted all throughout last season when LeBron put up one of the clutchest performances in NBA history against the Celtics en route to a championship. No one is saying he's the GOAT, but to call him a choker after performances like tonight's, where he may had a few turnovers and missed shots but also kept the Heat in the game when they needed it, is just pure hatred for the guy for something he did three years ago.
so the last part of the game ( umm when it REALLY counts as pretty much whole world will agree) and having 4 turnovers through last 6 minutes of game doesnt count either right? I just want to be sure I am following you.
Well, he hit the 2nd biggest shot of the whole game, and he also was the best defender on the floor the whole night. I'm not sure what you're arguing. He had some bad plays.. it happens to everyone. Overall, he put on a very good performance and was the best player on the court for either team. So to call him a "choker" is absurd and obviously agenda-driven because you don't like the guy for whatever reason.
Triple double and a possessed look after losing his headband and 16 in the 4th? If thats choking i want to choke every day
Do you get punched in the face by small children and intelligent mammals on a weekly or daily basis? LeBron's playoff resume is more or less unimpeachable, no need to go into the details at this point, but when someone throws up a triple double and a beast mode of a fourth period at desperation time down 13 and we have monkey fartbreathers penning diatribes in "clutch" - well, I hope you enjoy crying and watching Rudy Gay highlights. The rest of us will enjoy basketball. And that's a fact.
You gotta admit he choked up in the last few possessions of regulation. He got them in that position and then tried to choke it away at the end with those back to back turnovers. The Spurs let him make it by missing two free throws.
if only internet message boards were around in the 80's <iframe width="853" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/YQ1bd2g3p1Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Last 2 minutes: 2 TO 1-3 from threes He basically got bailed out by his teammates (rebounding, and bad coaching by Pop taking out Duncan), he didn't deliver in the clutch.
16 pts in the 4th + huge 3 to keep them in the game + great defense = choker The Lebron James Hater Formula.
Down by 2 with 39 seconds left and LeBron turns the ball over Down by 4 with 28 seconds left and LeBron turns the ball over Down by 5 with 23 seconds left and LeBron misses a 3 pointer Down by 5 with 20 seconds left and LeBron hits a 3 pointer Down by 3 with 7 seconds left and LeBron misses a 3 pointer That right there is a terrible last minute of a game. A lot of the time the choke label is unfairly placed on LeBron and many other players but in this case I think he did choke up.
