That was about the most useless video I have seen, hardly pertinent to the discussion. Why post that? Thanks not much at all

Versus what? 6 MVPS and 6 championships. Moses was a great player no doubt, but he's just not in the same tier.

Just because I am newly registered does not lessen the amount of knowledge I have nor does it lend any less value to my opinion. They are not claims, they are facts based on what I have seen. Just because I have not spent 11,700 posts worth of time talking on this board does not mean I don't know of what I speak. I have been a season ticket holder since Hakeem's first season in '84 and attended all of the playoff games during our back-to-back championship season. I have watched the game. Low post counts don't make me a troll. Maybe I needed the extra time not spent posting your additional 11,000 posts to have a great life. Don't judge simply by numbers, and get over yourself. You seem to think your opinion and the copious amount of time you have spent stating it on this board gives you some kind of value or a chance to spout something closer to the truth than others who have posted less. Stop judging, it will give your opinion greater value if you don't **** on other people who have wasted less time on this board...
And the Lakers bought most of their great players, and most of those players achieved the majority of their greatness on another club before the Lakers bought them. The Rockets drafted and developed the vast majority of their big man talent and should be recognized for that, not just simply the willingness of an organization to overspend to BUY the best at one time instead of drafting and making players the best they can be.

The lakers in the 80s were dominate in the west.
Only one team stopped the lakers from making the finals, the rockets

    Moses

    Dream

    Ralph

The ABA, Magic and longevity have been kind to Kareem's legacy, Magic won him championships (lord knows the way Walton especially outplayed him would have tainted it otherwise), the ABA won him way more mvps than he deserved, and longevity put up a ridiculous amount of points.

Shaq though, he was a beast.

Video of Moses vs kareem? Lakers vs sixers in finals.
    That's pretty relevant.

I thought Hakeem/Moses and Shaq/Kareem was probably close enough to be a wash, but from there i just can't consider Sampson and Yao above Wilt (even though it wasn't Philly Wilt) and Mikan from a legacy point of view.

Shaq was more dominant, but Hakeem was a better basketball player. Peoiple do not go to Shaq for tutoring because you can't teach size in terms of height or weight. While Shaq did develop into a capable post player with effort and time, he is not on Hakeems level and that's putting it mildly.

What they did on the floor tells another story. Moses was better the Kareem. If you had a chance to see the head to heads you would know it.

    Dream & Moses - 2

    Shaq & Kareem - 0

My post wanst intended towards you but towards someone who claims Hakeem is not in the same class as Shaq but anyways here...

have one (it will dramatically increase the quality of your life)...

Just because Lakers *bought* the centers does not mean they dont have a great history of big men. Irrelevant. The FACT remains that those players played for the Lakers teams, won championships with them, and are a big part of their history.

Shall we discuss how *some* teams tanked to get their big men? You should know since you watched them since 1984!

    A) Do you completely discount head to head Finals appearances?
    B) What dominant big man did Shaq ever really face between the time Hakeem dwindled and Yao appeared on the scene?

Not at all, I said as much in my post. Even so, a young Shaq played a great series vs Dream. Obviousely it wasn't enough, because Dream and the Rox went on to put a massive H-Town style ass whippin on the Magic. But, if you were to go back and look at JUST stats, you would think that Shaq won that matchup. Even though those of us who remember that series know that that wasn't the case; Shaq gave Dream all he could handle, and Dream returned the favor.

Shaq's rookie season was 92-93. That ten season stretch that I refered to in my first post started in 93-94. That means he did that against prime: Dream, Ewing, Deke, Mourning, Robinson, Rodman, Barkley, Malone, and Duncan.

Shaq's career cannot be discounted. Not by a long shot.

    Lakers have the better history.

Rockets have the better history of drafting Big men (Sampson/Dream/Ming/Hayes).

Unfortunately, injuries happened to Sampson and Yao.

We traded Hayes and Malone while they were stars, and they won titles with their new teams.

Dream was definitely better. Dream played Birds Celtics not Kidd's nets or Reggie's Pacers lol.
