    Moses > Kareem?!?!

I loved Moses but no way. Please don't use prime Moses versus old Kareem as some sort of barometer.

Kareem in his mid 30's is not "prime".

Again, no one is disrespecting Yao. Frankly, I don't get why you're so hung up about comparing two Rocket greats, despite your explanation, with all due respect. BOTH players had their careers cut short. Both players should have had far longer and even more amazing careers. Sampson played 82, 82, and 79 games his first 3 seasons. It's not his fault that he suffered a freakish injury, and that medical care for injured basketball players then was a shadow of what it is now. Just as it wasn't Yao's fault that he repeatedly suffered his own injuries, missing all those games that we are still bummed out about. "What might have been" applies to both. And here I thought Dr of Dunk loved to give Ralph a hard time! No one has even mentioned his occasional urge to act like a guard and dribble the length of the court, which sometimes led to a turnover, something that could drive even Sampson's most ardent fans crazy.

And Tinman, thanks for the props, but you're embarrassing me, man! I'm just a Rockets fan a little older than some of you, that's all. :)-

Stop insulting the entire Rockets history by admitting you never saw Ralph Sampson play and dismissing his importance to the organization.

We will always defend the Rockets history, have you not got this point?

So is this the thread that is causing tinman to necro bump old ass threads? I saw some picture of the Morris Twins with Ralph and thought that was it. So this is it, huh?

My point is that Yao is way less of a "what might have been" story than Ralph because he actually played 7 great seasons for the Rockets. To me that difference is enough to qualify Yao as a "Rocket great" and not Ralph.

You're way more of a Rockets fan than tinman (a delusional loser who only actually likes the 80's and 90's Rockets) is and I really respect your opinion and that you argue with actual reason. If you tell me that Ralph's two seasons were so memorable that it overshadows Yao's entire career, then I'll just have to take your word for it because yes, *gasp* I am only 25 years old and therefore am sh!tty Rocket fan (according to tinman). ;)

Ralph made it to the NBA finals and helped defeat a legendary Lakers team.
Yao would not be able to play in the fast pace of the 80s.

You're a ****ty Rockets man, Don't know what to tell you. Yeah, if you didn't see the no shot clock era, you're a piece of **** that should have been born earlier. That's too bad. tinman is so lucky to see some almost got a championship roster.

it means two things. One will die faster, and they're gonna miss the era of the ten time Champion Rockets. That's all.

Look at little 6 1 Jerry Sicthing and 7 4 Ralph Sampson go at it.

Picking a fight with someone way shorter than you. Just because both of you are guards doesn't mean you have to fight with other guards.
