So apparently Dan Harmon might be brought back. I really hope it's true. http://io9.com/what-dan-harmon-in-talks-to-return-to-community-510141772
Maybe they should make it an hour-and-a-half, have Harmon produce and air the first chunk at 9:30; and then have the people who got it renewed again produce the second part and air it after the news.
Two articles from the AV Club. First (a week old), Harmon is officially back with the show. Second, he probably won't do anything to nullify Season 4 (such as making it one of the alternate timelines), though he hasn't actually watched any of S4 yet. http://www.avclub.com/articles/dan-harmon-is-coming-back-to-community-multiple-so,98484/ http://www.avclub.com/articles/you-can-probably-forget-about-communitys-fourth-se,98757/
That's funny that he didn't watch any of S4. It wasn't bad, just wasn't the same. So is Chevy gone for good now?
So, Harmon has watched Season 4 now. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/17/dan-harmon-gives-his-opinion-on-community-season-4 Some quotes: C'mon Dan, tell us how you really feel.
Yikes. But he's not wrong, clearly the interim guys tried to write the show as they thought he did, but actually had no clue. I hope this event doesn't make his writing too depressing or dark in season 5.
Harmon is a douchebag for sure. His comments could have been toned down as I think there were a lot of good people that worked on the show in season 4 and put in some hard work. Some episodes were up there with the best (body switching one). It's clear though that he didn't like the season as a whole. All this will be for naught if season 5 starts to suck with Harmon back. He's got a lot of expectations now.
Are you referring to the episode with Troy and Abed switching? I thought that was one of the worst episodes I'd seen. The whole premise was stupid...and all so Troy could break up with Brita? Ugh...awful.
http://podbay.fm/show/542228532/e/1371464061 If anyone wants to hear his whole stance on watching season four it's worth a listen imo
Update: Troy Barnes will only be in 5 of 13 episodes in season 5. I've been re-watching season 4 and must say they were quite depressing. A lot of bad **** was revealed about the characters. Dan Harmon promises to get the season 1 & 2 vibe back though! So that probably means we should keep low expectations as we did for season 4.
I also hated the premise but half way through was so impressed at how well Troy does Abed that I just went with.
Gotta disagree there. The 4th season was crap overall, but that was by far my favorite episode of the season. I was dying laughing when the Dean kept going "when Jeffrey was inside of me". I believe Jim Rash wrote that episode himself.
